We're talking about men who claim to "think they're women" and walk in and expect to be allowed to hang around.

It does but by allowing men who merely "think" they're women in, it allows for a lot of abuse.

Well there's no way to tell a transvestite apart from a transsexual.

It might be abused by those who wish to rape molest or oggle women in the womes bathroom (ie people posing as transgender/vestite). Then again, they could do that anyway!

At the bookstore I worked in a few years ago - there was a guy who'd go into the first stall and drill a hole through the partition wall, so he could have a crotch-level view of the men using the urinals.

The problem is identity, right? Some men who call themselves women don't want to go to the mens room because they're not men, right? Fine, don't call it the mens room anymore. Call it the ####### room. And call the other room the ####### room. And make a third room for the 'differently abled'. This way no one has to identify with a gender. Just identify the equipment you have and go to the room that matches.

Who goes into public restrooms looking at other people's genitalia? I sure don't. I'm just in there to do my business and could care less who else is in there....unless they give off some really noxious fumes.

We live in a society, with people who don't all think like you do. Lots of people are uncomfortable sharing the bathroom with people of different genders.

"Lots of people" are mostly women. Most guys wouldn't mind sharing the bathroom with a chick.

I was kidding brother. I do not see why all the freaking upheaval over transgendered individuals using the bathroom that suits their gender identity. They are not "pretending" to be a woman; they identify as such and they have enough cr@p to deal with it thanks to intolerant @ssholes to add insult to injury. "Bathrooms for colored people only" ring any bells?
