I filed my I-751 jointly with my wife on October 15th, 2008. Attached sufficient evidence along with the application. It is now April 16th, 2009 and my case status online still says "Received and Pending". Here's a break down of the dates:

1. Application received the following day Oct. 16th, 2008 at CSC.

2. I received NOA dated Oct. 16th with the 1 year extension of my GC.

3. Then I received a letter in a week for my Bio Metrics appointment.

4. Bio Metrics was fulfilled and completed by November 22nd, 2008.

5. When I check online under the column 'Last Updated' it says that my file was updated, November 25th, 2008.

Case Status Online says that CSC is the fastest in processing and the time frame for processing the I-751 is 6 months. Now my 6 months is up. Why haven't I received any reply... ?

Can someone please help ?

There are different options. Call the mis-information line and ask them to put in an inquiry about your case. Make an infopass appointmennt and ask them directly what's going on with your case. Of course, there is the contacting senator/congressman/Ombudsman option. But perhaps you'll get the good news in a week or two. Good Luck!

i have been told by a couple of immigration attorneys that CSC could take up from 6 months to a year ...since I-751 are basically low priority for them.

i dont know if i can wait 1 year.. its too long.. i have things to do.. im moving soon... everything gets put on hold.. my whole life basically .. because of USCIS.

March 11- mailed out AOS to chicago

March 31- I-485 touched.

April 3- got letter in mail saying Initial interview on May 15.

interview came way too fast..

approved 2 yr card on july 2007

Feb10 - mailed out I-751 to CSC

Feb20 - did biometrics

waiting waiting waiting for the 10 year card......................................

Jasmine, thanks a lot for the quick response. Appreciate it. The strangest thing is that I haven't received any RFE or a date for an interview so far.... Does that mean Good News ?

Can you also please tell me more about the following... ?

1. What is the mis-information line?

2. How do I find out more about the senator/congressman/Ombudsman option ?

thanks.

Hi Stan, thanks for your input. I totally do agree with you about USCIS holding up one's life...

If you think about it, there's a reason why the NOA1 acts as a 1-year extension...

There's no reason not to go about living your life (i.e., move etc) in the mean time.

ooops! Sorry to confuse you! Forgot that you're a newbie, well... welcome to our forum about the Very Journey.

Here is the link that contains most of our VJers' language:

1. Mis-information line is the 1800 number that shows up on everything from USCIS. 18003755283. The secret magic numbers are 123. hmm... I'll let you guess what's 123 means. But even if you figure it out, it still won't get you any where. That's why it's called the mis-information line.

2. First find out who is the senator for your state and who is your local congressman that can represent you to make inquiry about you case. You can easily google their names. Then there is always a link on their website that tells you what can they do about immigration. If you need them to represent you, you will have to fill out a "release form" in order for them to inquire your case on your behalf. Here is a link about how to use the Ombudsman method:

Hope those helps! You can always send me private message (PM) if there's something you don't want to say it in public, I can also give you my e-mail in PM if you need, I've made some nice e-mail pals thru VJ. Good Luck!
