I’ve been growing increasingly frustrated with Fox News lately because it’s becoming nothing more than a noise machine. Yes, I know they were laughable in the past, but at least they made an effort to appear like they were a news organization. Now there is ZERO doubt that they’re simply a mouthpiece for right wing interests.

Take this segment from Your World with Neil Cavuto where a guest host just flat out says it’s his “duty” to promote the tea parties.

...if you really scratch the surface on who’s organizing these events you’ll find a who’s who list of traditional right-wing money folks like Richard Mellon Scaife, etc. So these were never grass roots events in the first place. And, to their credit, it’s not like they’re hiding any of these facts. So good for them for being being transparent, but somebody needs to to tell them they can’t fake the grass roots. Because ultimately it’s nothing more than a glorified media event with no true passion behind it.

And that’s the difference between something like this and the Ron Paul movement last year. That had passion behind it. Ultimately Paul was revealed to be a fairly flawed messenger, but his message still inspired. What message is inspiring the tea party folk? Obama is a socialist? More tax cuts? Again, there’s no “there” there because it wasn’t created by the grass roots. And Fox News covering these events like they’re conservative “love ins” only guarantees that failure will come quicker as the hungry mouth of the right wing media rips away any pretense of authenticity.

What takes away from the credibility of the teaparty folks is that they should have been protesting this type of thing a long time ago. Excessive taxation has been in force for a very long time in this country.

I agree in spirit with these teaparties, but I would not participate in one because they seem to be populated heavily by right wing partisan hacks rather than people who are really interested in genuine reform.

However Fox News and every other news network should have covered this, thousands and thousands of citizens all over the United States were protesting and that is not news? Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean it isn't news, comrade. Oh, and MSNBC's coverage of the teaparties was ridiculous. There really is not honest media in this country.

The truely pathetic part of this whole 'Tea Party" story is that it was Ron Paul who came up with the idea well over a year ago. He thought it would be a good idea as a means to forward the idea of a straight tax, the only fair tax system.

There are credible news organizations and there are bias news organizations. It's up to the consumer to differentiate. The owner of Fox News is Rupert Murdoch. He also owns many other media corporations. As for the Fox News Reporter saying it's now his great pleasure to promote the tea parties well it is true that is crossing a line in journalism. He's supposed to inform unless he's O'Reilly and it's his own show and it's known to be niche market audience. MSNBC is for the liberal audience and FOX News is for the conservative audience and it is know they are going for and speaking to these viewers. It's not Reuters, the BBC, NPR, 60 Minutes, ect..

Kind of funny of how all the coverage is about an evil rightwing conspiracy rather than any talk about tax or economic policy. Liberals just don't care and there only response is Bush was a big spender so we need to outspend Bush.

It's not just a question of how much or who to tax as punishment but which policies lead to real economic growth.

Give it a year and re-post your reality. Youll be cryin next to a box of kleenex just like you did for the last eight years. Olberman's comin on soon, would hate to see you miss it.
