I have been working on my wife and daughters paperwork for some time. We finally got my wifes resident card and have to do my daughters paperwork all over ( long story short had a bad lawyer that ran off with money) Any ways, We have been using ITIN's for the taxes and now they both have social security numbers. People are telling us we can get some money back from the IRS for the last three years that we used the ITIN's. Is that true? and if it is How do we go about doing that? The money will help especially now since we have to do my daughters paperwork all over again. Please let me know.
