Packets 3 and 4 for Ghana

Does anyone know if the embassy in Ghana mail the packets or you have to pick them up at the embassy or the post office? My SO received a little notice from the embassy telling him to go to a specified post office to pick up something. I was wondering if anyone has had this experience. I don't know if they changed things by mailing the packets to post offices for SOs to pick up. Any info will be very much appreciated.

AUGUST 18TH 2008---------FORMS SENT TO VSC

AUGUST 20TH 2008----------NOTICE ONLINE FOR NOA1

JANUARY 28TH 2009---------FIRST TOUCH

JANUARY 29TH 2009---------RFE( INITIAL EVIDENCE)

FEBRUARY 5TH 2009---------SENT REQUESTED DOCUMENTS

FEBRUARY 9TH 2009---------REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE RECEIVED AT VSC

MARCH 17TH 2009-----------APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOA2 (Thank you God)

MARCH 19TH 2009-----------NVC RECEIVED PETITION

MARCH 20TH 2009-----------NVC SENT PETITION TO GHANA EMBASSY

JUNE 10TH 2009--------------PACKETS 3 AND 4 RECEIVED

OCTOBER 8TH 2009----------INTERVIEW DATE

OCTOBER 27TH 2009...........REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE (evidence from b4 I moved to U.S)

NOVEMBER 30TH 2009.........REQUEST FOR A LETTER( want me to explain why i used my sis' address

where i was staying temporary)

JANUARY 11TH 2010............ SUBMIT DOCUMENTS

FEBRUARY 12TH 2010............VISA APPROVED

FEBRUARY 19TH 2010............VISA RECEIVED

You have to go to the embassy to pick up the packets.

Your SO needs to take the letter to the embassy to pick up the packets. If he does not have it then he will not be allowed in.

Thanks Zee Bee. He didn't receive a letter. He only got a little notice like the one USPS leave in the mail box when you have something to pick up at the post office, and asked him to go to Mamprobi(Don't know if I spelled it right) post office with with the notice. Its strange cuz I never read about anyone with this experience. Thanks again.

That's what I was thinking too. Anyway, he will go tomorrow to see what it is. I will let you know since this seems to be something new. Once again, thanks for the help. I appreciate it very much .

You never told us what the little notice in the box was? what was it? what did it require him to do? Was it for his interview-- or did he have to take that letter to the embassy in ecxchange for something--what was it ?

Also, do you get the medical exams BEFORE you get the packets 3 & 4, or should you wait to get the packets, and then go get the exams.

You need to wait to get the packets before taking the medicals. The medicals are valid for 3 months, so you need to know the interview date to schedule accordingly. Also, the packets have some forms that need to be sent to the medicals.

I will let u know what the little note ios when I find out. My SO couldn't go to the post office on Friday because he was sick. He will pick it up today so I will let u know what it is as soon as i find out. For the other questions Zee Bee answered already
