Your only option is to file the I-130. I don't know what the wait time is, but it seems to be long. Once you become a USC you can upgrade your petition and it should move along faster.

You can try and see if you can get her a tourist visa to come and visit, but she cannot live here permanently.

Good luck.

Your only option right now is to file the I-130. You can apply for citizenship 3 months before your five years are up. Once you become a citizen, upgrade your I-130 petition by sending in a copy of your Naturalization Certificate, your case will be approved quickly and you start the NVC process. It sounds like a long time but it will be longer if you dont become a citizen.

Good Luck.

Lots and lots of options:

You can apply for Citizenship in 2 years and upgrade your petition.

She can apply for a dual intent visa on her own merits, for example her employer could transfer her to their US company, she can apply to a US Company and get them to apply for a H1b visa

There is a whole alphabet of visa's. Just depends on which one is most suitable for her circumstances.

Your situation is very much like me. I am also a LPR. I have been waiting for my wife to come over here for the last four and half years. But I did apply for my wife as soon as I got my green card. I would say do not make any delay go ahead and apply for her right now. If you are late one day your wife's case will be delayed one day. Good thing you will get your USC in few years and you can expedite the case then. But don't wait till then apply right now.

I will apply for my USC next month when it will be approved then I will expedite my wife's case. I know how painful is the waiting.

The other option you have is to tell your wife to apply for a job in any US compay.

Another option you have keep applying for the diversity visa (DV) program (I don't know your country is eligible or not).

If you apply for her now make sure you keep doing the following things-

Notify all about your address change.

Keep each and every document that you are providing financial support to her.

File your tax on time and save all the documents including W2. Married but filing seperately should be your option. You get an ITIN number for your wife easily. You need to file a IRS W7 form.

Copy for your long distance phone calls you made to her if applicable.

Emails and other documents of communication.

Try to have a joint bank account, insurance etc.

I have spent a lot of time to know about these things. I know the pain of waiting. Good luck with your case. If you need any other information buzz me or any other VJ member.

VJ is one of the best inforamative site to know aobut immigration status. I like to thank all VJ members for being so helpful to each other. I have waited for my wife to be her for a very long time, but the good news the waiting is almost over. May be 2/3 more months. Please wish me luck. Thanks.

Thanks for the information Love Bird,

You said you had been waiting for your wife to come to the USA and you have also mentioned that you filed AOS on her behalf. I am little confused here, why you need AOS if she's not here?
