For those who remeber me my husband and i got approved on April 13th, 2009 and today he got his passport. the interview was a breeze we were only asked general questions and one important one which was how a girl from brooklyn ended up with a guy from DR? other than that it was the generic questions such as when how we met and if we were married before or had kids.

my husband got his passport today and the only strange thing is that on the visa stamp it says IR1 and we tought we were going to get CR1 instead because we still haven't reach our 2 year anniversary. is it common that even though you are CR1 on the stamp says IR1?

Hey Paris! how are you?? glad to see you remember me! :) i'm so happy now that i'm done with this process! it took us 1 year and one month to be over. i'm just confuse on the visa stamp my husband got that states IR1 i don't want to get all happy thinking we got the permanent instead of the conditional and then at POE find out that it was the conditional :S

Hey, Im fine, we re-filed and guess what? we are at CSC and not VSC this time. WHOA HOO!!!! and my petition is on a officers desk for review. Keep fingers crossed. Its wonderful they you are finally thru with this nightmare.I know its been a very long journey for you and him, I dont know about the IR1 stamp, I will see what I can read to find out and PM you.

Maybe hopefully Pushbrk will answer, you remember him?, or PM him.

Again many many CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey read this, does it help.

  • IR1 (IR stands for "Immediate Relative") Visas entitle their holder to receive Permanent Residency within the United States for a period of 10 years (may be renewed)
  • CR1 (CR stands for "Conditional Residency") Visas entitle their holder to receive "Conditional" Permanent Residency within the United States for a period of 2 years
So if his Visa says IR-1 then its a IR-1. A good thing!!! Edited by Paris Heart

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
