so we still haven't sent off our package (had to wait for some evidence of our relationship to be shipped)

but we have a couple more queries...

for the I-129F, question 10. "Citizenship Aquired Trough..", we ticked birth in the US and in the box below put her birth certificate number/date/place of issue.

but the example form from VJ says, regarding that box, to "ONLY complete for Naturalization Certificate"

can someone confirm for us where that info comes from? we don't want to not include her birth certificate number if it is meant to be there...

and one other thing, at the bottom of the I-129F, according to the example form we are meant to put 'Not in Military Service'? N/A or None isn't right?

thanks so much guys.. we couldn't have come this far without the help of this board.

I did too - no issues with my petition.

Just suggestions - your milage may vary.

Info comes from other posters. You will not get in trouble putting in your birth certificate info.

Put "Not in Military Service"

Oh - don't forget to answer question 2 and 3(as applicable) of part C.

Some people do.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

so part 2 and 3 of C we just leave blank (after ticking 'no')

and thanks so much for your quick reply! we are going to print our forms off now! yay.

really appreciate it, thanks.

Correct :) After checking 2 No - leave 3 blank.

Make sure you double check - using the checklist in the guides here.

triple check.

then check to make sure you included the check for the full amount and sign and date that check.

then make 2 copies of everything.

then check again.

hah I think we will be checking a million times. we are actually making 4 copies of everything too :P

these forms make you insane with paranoia!

can anyone tell me if, on the G-325a, for places lived.. do we type out the name of the month like the examples, or is it ok to put the number? like 03... 07 etc?

I ask because February doesn't fit in the box. lol

If the form doesn't specify date format - use the standard US date short notation.

You are filing the I-129f? Proof of relationship is not required at this point, only proof of meeting. If she is a native born US citizen she does not need to fill this part out. Make sure you include a copy of her birth certificate, front and back. If the back is blank...copy it and send it, write "copy of back of borth certificate" on the blank page.

NA and "none" are not universal answers.

You are free, of course, to make all the copies you want. If your plan is to have a "back up" in case your filing gets lost (not a bad idea) you will need ORIGINAL G-325s and fiancee letter of intents and original translation of divorce certificates (if applicable). Copies of these would do you no good. If you want "back up" make sure you keep extra originals of these documents.
