For domestic I prefer Southwest due to their rewards plan, frequency of sales, and ability to choose my own seating. I still don't have a favoured airline for overseas as yet. WestJet is an amazing airline for Canada/US travel.

NOT BA!!!!

The summer of 2007.

Flew Munich to Newcastle(England) via London- arrived Newcastle NO LUGGAGE 4 days later luggage arrived-3 days later flew Newcastle to Seattle via London - NO LUGGAGE it arrived 13 days later, spent 6 weeks travelling around US on various airlines luggage stayed with us, for our return journey we flew from Seattle to Munich via London and you guessed it arrived Munich NO LUGGAGE 5 days later we received 3 of our 4 bags and still havent received the 4th bag.

I'm with you. BA lost my luggage last summer.

To Vietnam, I fly United. Flying an extra 14 hours to choose a different airline is not something I would want to do.

For Domestic Vietnam flights, I'll never fly JetStar again. *shakes head* Hopefully Vietnam Airlines is better.

Domestic USA flights have generally been Delta or Southwest due to pricing and / or schedule.

I do like Emirates but travelling to UK and back I use Virgin because I have a gazillion miles with them and purchase the biz class flight with points. For coach they suck. The cabin crew in coach treat people like they are a nuisance and interfering with their lip gloss application time. BA first class is fantastic. I have only travelled that a couple of times but the service is wonderful. Delta are pretty good in the US and Virgin America isn't bad either (at check-in you can usually upgrade to buiness for around $200). American are horrible but the winner of worst airline goes to US Airways - never had a good flight with them. The landings always want to make you reach for your oxygen mask, and they seem to attract weirdo passengers...

ick.. American airlines suck. There's a reason they are going bankrupt!

To/from North America I have flown JAL, China Airlines, Air New Zealand and Northwest.. Northwest had the worst service, Air New Zealand was the best all round, JAL had the worst AVOD and China Airlines was decent given the price & it was a direct flight.

Within North America I have flown Alaska, Aloha and United. United is the worst and I will avoid them at all costs from now on. Aloha was pretty crappy.. and Alaska I'd probably fly again since they serve the northwest region and the service isn't bad for the price. I would like to try Virgin America one day though once they start flying to more cities

Other airlines I have flown.. Qantas, ANA, EVA, Singapore Airlines, Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Cathay Pacific. Singapore Airlines is hands down the best.. even in economy they are excellent. It's just too bad they cater more for Australia/Asia/Europe routes and not much for North America otherwise I'd love to continue flying with them.

Delta most of the time for three reasons:

1) Their transatlantic fares are usually the cheapest

2) Only Airline to do a non-stop flight to Atlanta from the North of England.

3) Skymiles - Frequent Filer Program

If not Delta then I usually go with KLM/NWA and fly out of Amsterdam instead. Never flown Continental, USAirways or United transatlantic usually more expensive though USAirways can offer good deals. Have flown with American Airlines before to Los Angeles.

AMEN.

I don't care how cheap they get, I am never flying with them again. Absolutely terrible.

Reinforcing: one of my cousins terms it "useless air" and lots of VJ'ers term it as "US scare".

Another reason to avoid United like the plague (actually, it may make you choose bubonic plague over UAL...).

Whoever has the best fare.

Does anybody take that actual airplane into consideration? We just flew on a 777 and the economy seating was the damn most uncomfortable configuration. The angle of the seats was weird and so was the shape of them. You could not stand up 'straight' from a sitting position - you kind of had to uncoil yourself upwards. Sooooooooo awful.

Travel quite a bit, so the following are on my list:

1) United, BMI, American: Because these are the cheapest and most realistic options out of my airport for direct flights to the UK. Hated British Airways because of the seats and leg room and American is the last option because totally unreliable when it comes to take-off/ departure time...they have ALWAYS been late every single time for one reason or another. Prefer United and BMI, BMI is #1 for USA-UK trips for me because in addition to price and convenience, they have the best service as compared to the rest.

2) Turkish, Kuwait, Emirates, Gulf, Ijtehad, PIA: Because they offer non-stop flights from here to Pakistan's various major cities that are of my concern. But among these, PIA was always #1: cheapest $$$, excellent service and always on time in my experience (but now they discontinued non-stop flights to Pakistan from my airport, so :( ). Kuwait, Emirates, Ijtehad, and Gulf are next on the list, all four have excellent service and comfort levels...but much more expensive than other options. I rate Turkish as the LOWEST because of poor service, but at times it has been the cheapest and most time-saving option.

3) Delta, JetBlue: Ideal for domestic travel, always got cheapest rates and great service.
