Expat Worker disadvantages for K3

My wife has recently entered the US ( to visit ) using her K3 visa. We both work overseas and have returned to live in Cambodia. We both have good jobs with good pay yet it won't show up as positive income on our tax returns due to foreign income exemption.

We curently face a situation where we could move forward with the I 130 IR/CR visa or wait to adjust status when we decide to move to live in the US permenantly.

My concern is that if we went ahead with the I 130 through NVC and there are delays in processing the I 865, the back and forth of processing and request for documents could turn into a nightmare.

Her Visa doesn't expire for another year and a half so we can wait to adjust status in the united States, but is this recommended? I could get a cosponsor but I am trying to avoid if possible. I once heard that for expat workers there is an advantage to having the I 130 processed oversea.

Any help is appreciated.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.
