Xenophobia translates as irrational dislike/fear of foreign people. Does NOT mean fear of illegals. Buy a dictionary; they have them with pictures for people like you. Or use google; which is where you usually collect your "information".

i am well aware of the dictionary definition of xenophobia. my comment was in reference to bat$hit's earlier post, thereby in a specific context.

language is a wonderful thing, and can be a powerful weapon or a constructive tool. careful manipulations of language can define a thought pattern. careful manipulation of a thought pattern or concept can become a method of overt or covert agression. a person or group of persons can by manipulation of the language coerce a populace in a subtle, but definable manner.

the liberal elite's recent adoption of the term xenophobia is covert agression by manipulation of concept. the term itself implies irrational thought or fear in the psyche of those who choose not to mix with barbarians. no rational person wants to be seen as irrational or fearful. therefore, if the liberal elite can define a dislike of barbarians as irrational, the person who would naturally choose not to associate with them can be coerced into reduced resistance. the key to the mechanism is obtaining the position to define the term "irrational".

the choice to avoid contact with barbarians is not irrational, in and of itself. it is a natural defense mechanism that has developed over the course of human history in acknowledgement of the basic tribal/family group system upon which our society is based. members of a family, and by extension tribe, have mutual indebtedness and collective protectionism. thereby, a man is safest within his "tribe". because this mutual indebtedness and protectionism does not extend beyond the shared identity group, a person who exists in a society of which he is not a part is by definition at increased risk.

the human animal is programmed by tens of thousands of generations to exist in a family/tribe/culture identity, historically differentiated by ethnicity. the concept of superculture is relatively new on this little rock. expecting the human psyche to adapt overnight to the change the technological revolution has brought us in terms of travel is foolis. expecting individuals in more advanced cultures to expose themselves to barbarians is thereby, also foolish.

your personal attacks have been absent, of late, and little missed. perhaps you can refrain from personal attacks, and stay on topic. if your mind is too simple to argue the points i present, be silent, and thought a fool, rather than outspoken, and known a fool. if you would like to improve your understanding of the psyche from a zoological perspective, i reccomend the works of desmond morris.

Shooter, you're in denial if you don't recognize the very real element of xenophobia with regard to 'illegal immigrants.' My premise was based on the fact that some people jump up and down until they are red in the face of undocumented workers 'because they aren't following the law', yet when the laws are on their side, as with birthright of US Citizenship, those same whiners complain and say we need to change our Constitution. Change our constitution? Should we get rid of your coveted 2nd Amendment while we're at it? Of course not. If all Amendments being equal - don't f#ck with Constitution. Those who say they want to are showing a double standard which, IMO, reveals their real anguish - xenophobia over Mexicans.

I'm sure a lot of kids hang around the malls without buying anything..and yelling, but I guess is in english so there's no problem..

if i go to a shopping mall to buy a shirt, i don't shout the entire tiem and create a public disturbance. i just do my thing and then leave.

my kids are 24, 21, and 18, and are all relatively financially independent.

i don't hear a lot of kids yelling in english in shopping malls. yelling seems to be a spanish language thing. only the chinese are worse for yelling in public places. you should try living there for a few years.

As long as the kids know how to read and write English, I careless if they speak Spanish or not. On the other hand, if they could speak and write Spanish and lived here for 20 years, yet still could not read and write English then I'd have no respect for them. Period. This includes Cambodians. Different language, but same reasoning.

I think most people don't care if they hear someone yelling in Spanish, it just hurts justashooter's sensibility..
