in my "neighborhood" neighbourhood, hun, the neighbors neighbours are cows. the boys grew up hunting with me, and the daughter baked the cookies. i taught the boys how to make furniture and build guns. the daughter i taught how to cook.

Well excuse me if you did not like my choice of the word neighborhood neighbourhood....does "town" or "neck of the woods" or "area" work better for you??

I come from small town Georgia and we have cows at my house. So my "neighbors" neighbours are cows as well and the nearest person lives 2 miles away. That's no excuse for living back in the 1950s. It's 2009 and kids go to the mall just like illegal immigrants and normal Americans.

Fixored.

should have realised that one of our favourites would make the necessary corrections.

Good. With our low birth rate among citizens, we won't have to do what European countries with negative population growth have been doing - importing foreigners who don't really want to be there.

According to danno that because of all the gays

apparently we need to turn some of them there mexicans gay so thems can stop walking around our malls and such.

It's an honour that our British friends post here. Have British friends in other sites that I am pleading they take us back, pay off our debts, and give us free healthcare, so far, no takers.

Getting back to Italy for a second, yep we have a consulate.

Chicago Italian Consulate General

500 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1850

Chicago, IL 60611

Must be just about next door to the Venezuelan consulate again in downtown Chicago. Use to be one of the lucky ones to fly into Meigs Field, free parking, and with a short walk to downtown or just take a cab that was a lot cheaper than parking. But that's history, all the good things about this country seem to be history as well.

Also heard another guy say, if we can get by with two less nuclear submarines or one less aircraft carrier, the government, not our government, but the government would have enough money to send all of our kids to college for free. That has me teed off because my step daughter called and cannot register for the next fall semester, because we still owe them money! Just send a huge check January 15th for this semester, balance paid in full! A semester starts January 15th and ends May 15th, that's not even four months for a 12 month year, plus she got off a week for spring break, and is groundhog day a national holiday as well? And summer break is from May 15th to September 5th, also heard our state has a very strong teachers union. When do they work for their pay? But sure is costing me a fortune plus taxes. Feel we are getting robbed, and not by some crook in the street, but by the government.

I think it shows what is really going on here....widespread xenophobia.

xenophobia is fear of illegals. we are not afraid of them.

we're just tired of paying to enhance their lifestyle. we're just tired of paying higher taxes so that illegals can get free housing, free food, free medical care, free school, free use of public services, free use of police and fire services, and free jail services when they get caught. we're tired of them pumping out babies and increasing the percentage of society that exists on welfare, and that is a hindrance to the development of our country and it's economy.

we are also tired of them shouting in spanish in public places. we are tired of them pissing and $hitting on the floor in bathrooms of shopping malls. we're tired of them hanging out in places where they don't have any legitimate business (shopping malls while not shopping, for instance). we're tired of them driving without liscenses, insurance, or auto inspections. we're tired of them getting into fights in night clubs. we're tired of them acting as consumers for prostitutes and drug dealers.

we're just tired of them being here.

Xenophobia translates as irrational dislike/fear of foreign people. Does NOT mean fear of illegals. Buy a dictionary; they have them with pictures for people like you. Or use google; which is where you usually collect your "information".

As for your other comments --- they are not surprising, coming from someone like you. You are disgusting.

there's a lot of generalizations in this thread, but i believe we can all agree that illegal immigrants in this country are a serious problem and one that must be dealt with delicately. but i will agree with the one about being pissed off about having to foot the bill to care for these people. it's not fair that i am an average person who pays taxes, shuts up, does what they need to do, and is going through this BS process of waiting months and months for my husband to come here so we can start a new life together, when people can just simple overstay their visas or cross the border and expect everything to be handed to them. well, my husband could do the same thing now can't he? but he won't. quite simply because we respect the laws of this land. i can see this reaching chaotic levels soon enough.

Now I'm confused....because I spelled Neighbo(u)r the AMERICAN way, you get on to me?

Yes because its ENGLISH.

But aren't most of us here in AMERICA? I don't care how you spell it personally and I don't really feel like you should care how I spell it either! I just so happen to have a dictionary on my desk (I'm an ESL teacher) and the American Heritage dictionary spells it like this: Neighbor, Neighborhood.

Favorite is ENGLISH as well, but it's not wrong for us Americans to write favorite and not favourite! I lived in London for 3 years and mix up my spellings, but I never get on to people for spelling something one way or the other! That's just silly when they are all right!

I'm not claiming to spell everything correctly, I make mistakes all the time...but really....attack me when I spell something incorrectly, not when I spell in American...especially when the guy that I"m talking to hates illegals so much. Illegals aren't only Mexican....they can be British too!

And fozzie...I'm not trying to get mad at you at all, but seriously....Justashooter had to focus on my CORRECT spelling instead of properly responding to my questions.... Really?
