However here has personally been hurt financially from the number of undocumented workers in this country, please step forward.

New Construction Jobs in Texas - Completely taken over by illegal Aliens workers

then report the employers, it is against the law...or maybe, just piss and moan ..more fun, i suppose

Why waste your time? Obama and the Dims love illegal aliens more than they love the American people. Why else would they guarantee stimulus jobs to illegal aliens by purposely barring the use of E-Verify? Why else did they actively quit raiding illegal alien infested worksites they know exist? Why do they call ICE terrorists? Why did Pelosi say that illegal aliens are "patriotic"? Why do they do this with 8.5%+ and climbing American unemployment and rising?

Let's get real with the political pandering going on here. These politicians (Rethugs too) only care what is good for them and how it can achieve political hedgemony for their party. For the Dims it is betting the farm on future votes of literally millions of amnestied illegal aliens with an easy pathway to a Dim voter card. This not only subverts and perverts true democracy. It is anti-democracy.

At some point the American people need to wake up to what these clowns are doing to us and our country.

Undocumented workers are people just like you and me...and just because they don't have legal status here doesn't make them bad people or someone to vilify, which has been your position. There's no rational reason to loathe or fear them or even spend any of your time and energy worrying about them. We've had people crossing over the border for centuries and while it is reasonable to place limits and conditions on who we let into this country, p!ssing and moaning about the ones who are already here and have been here for some time is just blowing hot air...which I'm sure you'll keep doing until you breathe your last breath, peejay.

Because they don't have legal status would then make them illegal, which means they are breaking the law.

We have a zillion laws and a zillion people breaking laws everyday. In the scope of all things pertaining to laws, this is minuscule and has no real negative effect on individual Americans.

The number has been in decline for the last few years, according to what I heard recently.

Well its become a political issue - more so in border states like Texas or CA that see the brunt of the influx.

Not true any more, apparently. Illegals do not love CA any more.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

In the name of humanity!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

The point I think is that while conditions on the ground can change quickly - people's aren't as quick to modify their opinions, especially when the attitudes involve a degree of prejudice. Ingrained attitudes - and all that.

Yes, people have been crossing over for a while and Americans have been moaning and b1tching about it for a while too :)

Nativism was a phenomenon even in New York when the Irish were coming over in droves to escape the potato famine. Imagine that...people just trying to survive. What a concept.

I do not see any fist waving against for example people who speed and they too are breaking the law.

This is true. Since we're comparing driving and immigration, it might be worth noting that both are a privilege. No one has the right to a driver's license or a car. The same is true of immigration, whether it's legal or illegal.

Part of the problem is that illegal aliens feel they have a "right" to enter the United States, which they obviously do not. Some people feel the same about driver's licenses and cars too (and they're wrong, as well). The major difference is that anyone in the U.S. -- legal, illegal or simply a visitor -- may drive while visitors and illegal aliens do not share all of the same rights and privileges that American citizens and permanent residents do.

In the name of humanity!

In the words of Woodie Guthrie...

This land is your land This land is my land

From California to the New York island;

From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters

This land was made for you and Me.

As I was walking that ribbon of highway,

I saw above me that endless skyway:

I saw below me that golden valley:

This land was made for you and me.

I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps

To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;

And all around me a voice was sounding:

This land was made for you and me.

When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,

And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,

As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:

This land was made for you and me.

As I went walking I saw a sign there

And on the sign it said "No Trespassing."

But on the other side it didn't say nothing,

That side was made for you and me.

In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,

By the relief office I seen my people;

As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking

Is this land made for you and me?

Nobody living can ever stop me,

As I go walking that freedom highway;

Nobody living can ever make me turn back

This land was made for you and me.

Steven, no one is saying that people shouldn't be allowed a chance to survive. However, there are legal avenues to pursue if you wish to live in a country that's not your own.

In some way, I do feel bad for some of the illegals. My sense of charity stops at illegal entry (unless requesting some form of refugee status). If someone wants to move into the U.S. -- or any country -- on a permanent basis, then they must follow the law and immigrate legally.

With radar guns (and other methods), apparently the police can too.

Dude, if you had a family and your family's only chance of surviving meant you may have to break some laws, you'd do it. At least I hope you would.
