Police seize 20-year-old guarding vast weapons cache... including anti-aircraft gun

Smirking for the camera, this is the 20-year-old woman Mexican police caught guarding an extraordinary arsenal of weapons.

Anahi Beltran Cabrera was seized during a routine patrol in Sonora state, near the U.S. border.

Officers recovered a vast cache of weapons including an anti-aircraft gun capable of firing 800 shots per minute, a number of rifles and an array of ammunition.

They believe the haul belongs to a group allegedly linked to the powerful Beltan Leyva drug cartel.

Cabrera was paraded before the media - along with the weapons she was caught guarding.

Large swathes of Mexico have been ravaged by violence with drugs gangs battling for territory.

Last month, 2,000 soldiers and armed federal police were deployed into the border town of Ciudad Juarez to restore order to the country's most violent city.

In one month, 250 people were killed by hitmen fighting for lucrative smuggling routes.

They just got done building a new consulate, and you woulda thought that they learned from their first mistake of putting a consulate in Ciudad Juarez..... HAHAHA NOPE!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Or, perhaps bare arms? It is a sign of jealousy, she will not take her shirt off and bare anything to you.

i see a 50 cal (judging by the muzzle brake), a 1919, a MAK90, an AR15, and a couple of bolt guns. i see a bunch of AK magazines worth about $6 each. i don't see anything resembling an anti-aircraft gun. it's a pretty poor collexion, by my standards. let's just say i'm not impressed.

but then, this is a UK news report. if the reporters had any idea of what a decent American gun collexion looked like, they'd have to change their pants.

and what is this ####### with cops wearing masks? do they think they are zorro, or something?

the gun on tripod is a US pattern 1919, probably an american made israeli lend lease in 30 nato, but could be in 30-06 or 8X57. both of mine are in all 3 calibers by barrel change, but one of mine is in the ground mount bipod configuration with buttstock. the 1919 in the pix is on an M3 tripod that was originally designed for an M2 50 caliber gun, which is the same thing, scaled up by 300% in weight, 40% in length, and 500% in ballistic energy. the correct tripod would be the M2 variation, which is smaller. the nomenclature is confusing, but hey...

the rate of fire on that baby is about 550 bpm, and the gun is considered a GPMG, general purpose machine gun, for anti-personnel use in direct or indirect fire. it is not an anti-aircraft gun, by any means, but a special aerial use tripod was made in small quantities, and is rarely seen today. it was the US standard from 1919 to about 1960, and was given in large quantity to our allies after WW2. tens of thousands of these were given to israel in '62-64, and used effectively in the '67 conflict with the egyptians. israel surped them in 1999, and they went on the world market. mine came into the US through GMS in about 2001.

this gun shoots a cartridge suitable for deer hunting, with an extreme effective range of about 1000 metres at which a trajectory of about 8 metres. fired from a sandbagged ground mount at a stationary target at 500 metres, dispersion would be on the order of 3-4 metres in short bursts, and aiming accurately would be possible if a side mounted optic were used. in rock and roll a belt at a time, a skilled gunner would be able to keep all rounds on a stationary 747 at 1000 meters if tracers could get him on target. but then, tracers are lighter than standard ball, and tend to have different trajectories...

the average untrained mexican would find it almost impossible to hit a moving airliner with this gun, unless... (sensitive material removed with discretion)

If she's under 30, not overweight, and likes to go to Britney Spears concerts, have I got the right man for her.

It's amazing the Native Americans didn't starve really, if that's what it takes to hunt deer.
