No, my suggestion was attack the problem from the other end. I honestly think that Obama made a mistake in this one. He can't possibly imagine that the US has either the will or the resources to patrol this part of the ocean at a level that would make a difference. This is not a new problem but the way it is being reported at the moment, one would think it was.

The US does have the will and the resources to do this.

It's peanuts compared to what Obama is spending at home on his pet projects.

A million square miles of ocean? Right. How many navy ships do you think would be required to patrol that? Or perhaps they will simply escort every shipment?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

The shipments follow pre-defined routes - there's no need to patrol a million square miles.

Why not a convoy system used in WWII to effectively deny the enemy targets? Of course sinking pirate vessels would deter them but we're too nice to do that sort of thing nowadays. Sink the mother ships for the pirates.

Well, obviously it's not because it is not being treated as such, hence there have been no exploding pirate ships.

Even when they know the pirates are waiting for them? They deserve to be attacked, idiots.

All I'm saying is that we do know where the potential targets are at all times, so we don't have

to patrol millions of random square miles of ocean.

Oh - it could be done - just set a couple subs off the coast of "known" pirate harbors, then track them.

Most of the attacks in the "open" waters are done with "motherships".

Sink those, and they are restricted to a smaller operating area.

Or - Arm the ships with more than water hoses and zig-zagging.

Or - get a cargo ship, in disguise, and spring traps on the pirates.

Or.....

We are not at war - nothing to do with being nice or not nice.

Once they start killing crews - we might be.

Even when they know the pirates are waiting for them? They deserve to be attacked, idiots.

Or they are taking the most fuel efficient route?

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
