I will call in couple of days to check where my case stands :(

I just hope they complete it in time for a June interview.....

Good to hear the updates from you GS4EVER...I'll be glad to update the list... I think most of the people on the list are on their final stages of case completion... I really really want to post the entire list with case complete in big bold size 7 fonts ;)

Champi u're the best! :D HEHEHE i can't wait for that either and if we're really really bored or just #######, we can make another list with bold font 7 for our interview dates :P hehe my lawyer called me aggressive today cz I did not hold back from emailing his office asking qs. throughout this process. But maybe if he did a better job explaining to me how the process works I wouldn't have so many qs. He said I was the only client who always contacted him and others just sit back and let him handle the case. What planet is he on??? Apparently he has not met the likes of us VJers who are passionate about our spouses!! I so did not appreciate his use of the word aggressive like it's a bad thing :angry: . I am a very nice 5 foot 1 woman in love and I just want my husband here :luv: . I didn't realize trying to educate myself about the process was a negative! :wacko: I guess for him it is but whateverrrrrrrr..... Glad to be done with him. I am never ever hiring an immigration lawyer ever again! I can do fine on my own thanks!

Atk - don't worry, if they are telling you final review and don't need anything from you, it's probably just fine. My husband is also a Muslim man and I fully expected our review to drag on, but it didn't - our case has flown through both USCIS and NVC. Remember our president has roots in Islam and that didn't stop this country from voting for him. It's 2009, not 2001. Incha'allah your case will be complete this week. :thumbs:

Congrats everyone who has his case completed,

for my updates I just checked if I can sign in to NVC online payment the good news is "Sign In Failed" that means I'm almost there, I expect my case to be completed in the next 2 days,

the bad news is it still going to be the same situation, as long as the interview will not be scheduled for May, that means we will have to "WAIT AGAIN"

the longest 2 months in my life

conclusion : 2009 IS the the year of "WAITING"

For now, I am less worried about when I find out vs. the actual date. I really really hope Consulate in Chennai, India is not so much booked up that I can't even get a June interview. The thought of not getting a June interview scares me a lot... I know I know, I need to think positive...

I just emailed them asking if they still have open May interview slots for CR1 and if they are willing to request that our CR1 file be expedited to Lebanon from NVC. I have to wait till morning to get an answer though...I wonder what they will say...hmmmmmm :innocent: Hoping they give me the answer I want to hear :star: Have u tried contacting ur consulate directly? I suggest everyone try to do that. It only takes a quick email :yes: You never know, u might get lucky!

I just called NVC. My case has been under review since March 28, when I got an RFE in relation to a prior J1 visa (a document I was unaware I have to submit and not mentioned anywhere in the DS-230 instructions). The rep said that my case is completed but is pending final review. I repeated her statement to her, so that she understands how absurd it sounds - "yeah, your are approved, but no, you are not". She then clarified that what she meant is that all the documents are there (as concluded on April 14th) and they will just do one final review to make sure it's all there before they forward to consulate, subject to interview-slot availability.

While it all sounds like good news, it seems more like no news. What's really frustrating is that I have been calling every day for the past 2 weeks and never got a rep to say that the case is completed or "pending final review" even though the status has been such for exactly one calendar week (since April 14th).

Oh well, keeping fingers crossed and wishing everyone else on this board good luck.

Congratulations GS4ever! :thumbs: I'll be interested to see what response you get from your consulate. The Casa consulate's website says: NVC will notify the applicant of the date of the appointment. An earlier date cannot be arranged by the U.S. Consulate General. So I'm inclined not to even bother trying to see if they have a May slot free. However given what an NVC rep said to Nedino, it sounds like they DO forward files to the consulate earlier subject to interview slot availability, i.e. not waiting until the second week of May. All very confusing. Good luck, by the way, Nedino - hope you hear the magic words very very soon. :star: The last bit of waiting time is truly nail-biting.

First GS4EVER, congratulations!!!!! :) Im happy for you. And second, like the others Im really interested on what the consulate might answer you. I hope a positive answer. I'm sending an email tomorrow to regarding my K3 interview and how I want to drop it. But I will call them and ask about interview date too.

03/18/09 - Choice of agent accepted by e-mail

03/20/09 - Got e-mail with IV bill

03/20/09 - Paid for IV bill

03/25/09 - Sent the IV DS-230 packet by mail direct from beneficiary's country

03/28/09 - Sent the AOS packet by mail

04/01/09 - AOS packet delivered at NVC

04/08/09 - DS-230 Packet delivered at NVC ( I don't know why that long it was stuck at Customs for like 2 weeks!!!)

04/09/09 - AVR says it's missing the DS-230 (False RFE)

04/09/09 - AOS approved

04/10/09 - DS 230 entered into the system, probably under review now.

04/13/09 - AVR says "The NVC has received the checklist letter response on April 10th"

04/20/09 - Case Completed at NVC

04/24/09 - Got e-mail with the appointment letter

06/03/09 - Interview Date!!!! PASSED!!

06/06/09 - Received passport and the Big Brown Envelope

Hey vny, thanks and enjoy the :luv::luv::luv: hehe ;) I am trying to see if my consulate will allow for the file to be sent to them. I just emailed them asking if they still have open May interview slots for CR1 and if they are willing to request that our CR1 file be expedited to Lebanon from NVC. I have to wait till morning to get an answer though...I wonder what they will say...hmmmmmm :innocent: Hoping they give me the answer I want to hear :star: Have u tried contacting ur consulate directly? I suggest everyone try to do that. It only takes a quick email :yes: You never know, u might get lucky!

Good luck with the embassy. Not sure if that would help, but wish you the best. Didn't even consider with Japan embassy. They charge a fee just to talk to someone or email them. Must be the economy. lol. But since going over to visit in May, was just going the patience route. I guess that is one thing that has happened going through this journey. They say everything happens for a reason and I guess this process has taught me a LOT of patience. But either way, it is almost over... Good luck and best wishes!!!!
