Hi champi!

Don't stress, its not worth it. If you have gotten this far in the process then it should be fine. About your trip to Canada, if you husand is getting an IR-1, then when he comes into the US, they will stamp his visa. This stamp in the passport allows you to re-enter the USA for up to a year . I haven't got mine yet and I have been here exactly 2 weeks now.

Cheers,

Thanks Corinne, it's so nice of you to keep us encouraged..... :-) I am assuming, the stamping process is same for IR-1 or CR-1, right?

Hey vivianNyc, how's it going? You won't believe this, I found Tim Tams and vegemite in a store in Santa Fe! The Tim Tams were $3.99. its at a shop called the World market. Its awesome, they have heaps of Aussie stuff!!!!

Good for you, Corinne! I've seen Vegemite in the "gourmet" section of some grocery stores, if you can believe that, for around $6 for the smallest jar  I usually just stock up when I'm in Oz to see me through. I find that most Americans react the same way to the black stuff as we do to the notion of combining peanut butter and "jelly" And I just dream about Tim Tams - my thighs don't need them!

I'm feeling strangely calm about the weeks ahead. Excited, but like everyone else just want it over with. I just hope he gets approved quickly so we can have a bit of a relaxing vacation before coming back here. I need one after all this stress.

Atk, we won't be making a reservation until my husband's passport is good to go. Don't want to take any chances booking it and then maybe having to change it. I'm sure the consulate will understand that!

Hi atk of course we'll be here to give you good wishes and calm you down with answers :), me hopefully from the US with my husband sitting on the couch next to me:) i will tell you on tuesday if they asked whether i have a reservation. i bought it because the terms are pretty good - free change of date and 20 bucks fine if i end up not using it. so i'm not losing anything and also this way it feels more definite - i am going home in 6 days :)

I agree with Vivian about reservation. I don't think it is required or give away positive message. In fact, we may give out impression of cocky for confident about passing interview and buying ticket before the interview. just my opinion...

But you see that I bought tickets already... the main reason is personal. But aside from that, it does set a definite time line and also gives a feeling of things being more real... :) if we change the ticket, we end up losing $250 but we were willing to take that risk to avoid the main reason :)

And yes, I'll be around... Even if everything goes well, my husband will not be here till 24th of June.... after that, I can't guarantee :)
