I wish we could, but they don't even have the packet yet. Keep checking DHL but the package keeps returning to their facility. The embassy is closed this week because Japan has this thing called Golden Week. So I guess we'll just have to wait till June. Wish it could have been this month because, yaay, I'm flying out to see her tomorrow. Hope they let me in the country though. With this damn swine flu thing going on, heard they now have a quarantine at the airport. I don't have it, but I hope nobody on my plane has it and screws the rest of us up. Anyway, just got to keep positive.

So GS4EVER, by the time I get back I hope to see the "We got our Visa" post!!! GOOD LUCK!!! (L)

Hi there, Princess. I'm freaking out too, and I'm not even going to be the one in the interview! It's so scary hearing about Casa visa refusals. Do you think they are tougher on K visa applicants than CR-1s? My husband just called me from outside the consulate - he just had his medical (a marathon he said :star: , but fine). Sounds like he made a bunch of new friends all doing the medical for their visas. I know I shouldn't worry too much as we've been "together" more than 6 years and I've made 18 trips there to see him  I'm working on our "evidence" portfolio - just had a bunch of wedding party photos professionally printed and enlarged for the album. It's hard to believe anyone looking at them would think we're a pair of impostors. Anyway, I'll be right outside the consulate during his interview and if he has any problems I'll be on the phone to my congressman immediately.

Good luck, and try to relax. This too shall pass, as they say.

Hi there vivian, i'm trying to cool down and convince myself that everything will be ok but hearing about refusals makes me crazy

i called two girls i met the day i've done the medical exam;both of them didn't get the visa, the first girl was a k3, she was asked to bring more evidences, she said that they asked her a lot of questions and even if her husband visited her 4 times after their marriage, at the consulate they are not convinced that their marriage is real because they got married 2 months only after meeting and there is a big age gap btw them so they asked her to bring more proofs like emails, chat history, calls history but the poor girl didn't save any of chat logs because she didn't know that she will need that for the interview.....

i really feel lucky because i found VJ which helped us a lot during this process and we were able to handle all the paperwork without the help of a lawyer

the second girl wan an IR1, she was also unlucky, they told her that she needs to get a letter from their cosponsor first, she told me that it was easy and they didn't ask her about any evidences or pictures, and that they didn't deny it but she needs that letter first before she can return back to the consulate

even if i've prepared pictures, chat logs , phone calls history , i'm afraid they will ask for more evidences, my husband didn't visit me after marriage so it might be a problem for them at the consulate

you don't have to be afraid , they can't refuse to give ur husband a visa with a 6years of relationship with all evidences, it will be successfull inchallah

i'll keep u updated , don't worry

 lol Th3mo! U r funny! Except I am not the one who will do the exploding! Hubby is the one who has the interview. I am the USC :P But of course I will be a big ball of nerves the nite b4 and I am sure I won't sleep!

Princess and Vivian, Hope things go well for both of u. We also have that AP worry in the back of our minds although for Lebanon it is never more than a month. I think it normally runs from 2 weeks-1 month. But we are hoping we are not placed in post interview AP all over again as we just got out of it at NVC

Have u all tried to contact ur consulates to c if u can change ur dates?? Ours did not agree at first but they did not have our file yet. Now that they do, the answer came back favorable so it doesn't hurt to try!! Best of luck!! :star::star::star:

Thanks GS4EVER. Yep, been popping them vitamins so I will stay healthy. It's just all this paranoia going on about this swine flu thing. Read yesterday that on one of the flights to Japan, one of the passengers had some symtoms so they quarantined her and a bunch of people on the plane who came into close contact with her. I'm only there for two weeks and don't want to spend half of that in the hospital under quarantine. :crying:

But right now is Golden Week in Japan. They have a whole bunch of holidays put together and practically the whole country shuts down for most of the week, except the essential stuff, I guess. And wouldn't it be our luck, the embassy also shuts down on the 4th - 6th. So I guess DHL tried to deliver, but nobody there to deliver to so it keeps going back to the DHL facility. Oh well, like we keep saying, everything happens for a reason and I guess timing is part of it. lol. What I can't figure is how come the workers at the "American" embassy also get the Japanese holidays (on top of all the American Holidays)!!! Maybe that's where I should be looking for a job. :P

But really, just want to wish You and your Hubby the best and may the Visa Gods (L) shine down upon you!!!

Thanks for explaining, Princess. Helps to know why people are denied. I think you'll be fine - you only got married in December for heaven's sake! If I were interviewing you, I'd be understanding that your husband hasn't been able to visit you since then - it's expensive to fly to Maroc these days! And since you'll be in the US so soon, why would they expect him to make another trip in the meantime. Don't worry. And I won't either! :star:
