Thanks

so, i will contact the designated clinic for my appointment?

I have another question, the letter I got from the NVC follows:

Please note that even though the applicant may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, the applicant is still required to bring the original to the visa interview:

DS 230 I & II - Y

Birth Certficate - O

Financial Evidence - Y

Police Certificate - O

Petitioner Birth Certificate - F

Legend:

Y - The required document has been received and accepted

O - The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post requirements.

F - This form is not necessary for this application

Should I still need to bring the DS230, Birth Certficate(I need another orig copy??), Financial Evidence, Police Certificate?

Aside from my passport, medical and 2x2 pictures to bring during the interview(including the letter they sent), any other particular docs/materials? Can i also bring our family pix(with me and my petitioner)? 'Coz I was told that DNA testing is required too...

Hey Corinne,

Yes please let us know about the med exam please..

KD..how do you know for sure we can get the passport the same day from 5pm to 6pm.

Hi Ben and Ash,

(Note that I had my Booster for tetnus, diptheria and whopping cough booster injection the day before 28 APRIL at my local GP - that was the only booster I need to have. I had a blood test to check my immunity for chicken pox, mumps, measles and rubella about 6 weeks ago and had the results).

Well I had my appoint schedule with the immigration doctor in Sydney for 1pm.

12:45pm - Arrived for appointment - The receptionist asked for my 3 passport photos, my passport and vaccination records. She then gave me a bottle for the urine sample. She told me to go to the bathroom and while I was there she would continue filling out the paperwork. I returned from the bathroom and gave her the sample. She then gave me a form for XRays and a form for Blood test. She told me to go down to Level 1 to get the XRay. She told me not to wait for the report, just to immediately go up to level 2 to get the blood test. Then when the blood test is done to go back and get the XRay report and then come back to her on L3. I didn't have to wait at all for the XRay, I walked up, did the paperwork, paid for it. Then before I could site down the XRay man called me took me to a room and asked me to disrobe from the waist up and remove my necklace. He then took me into the room next door and said stand against this board. He then said take a deep breath and then he took the XRay. He then told me to wait while he checks that the XRay worked. He came back 2 minutes later and said its fine and get dressed. I then left and went to Pathology. I did the paperwork and paid and then the nurse took me into the room, jabbed me with a needle, stuck a bandaid on me and then said I could go. I then went back down to Level 1 collected my XRay and went back to the DOctor's room on L3. Upon arrival at Doctor room, the reception grabbed my Xray, removed the report from the XRay envelop and stapled to the file. SHe then wrote on the XRay envelop that I must keep this for 12 months, I must take it to the USA with me in my luggage and that I do not need to take it to the consulate when I have interview. She then said she would send me copies of all the results and the final report and I should receive in two days. I then had to wait about 10mins to see the Doctor (he was just finishing off his lunch) then I went in and he asked me the questions about my medical history. He then told me to disrobe and he made me touch my toes, move my neck up and down and side to side, move my body from side to side. He took my blood pressure, listened to my heart, measured my height and weighed me. He then gave me an eye test. He also examined my abdomen by pressing down on it. Then he told me to get dressed and then he told me that's it. I then went back out to the reception who charged me for the visit and double checked I understood her instructions and then wished me well and said goodbye.

It was all over in about 1 hour. They were all very nice and professional. I was amazed at how efficient the process was and how friendly and nice everyone was!

Anyway, I am sure that it is probably slightly different depending on the beneficiarys country. The only suggestions I can make to anyone based on my experience:

  • Ring the Immigration Doctor office as early as you can to ask what vaccinations you need or records of medical treatment you need to produce. Also ask them about the process they have (e.g. they told me that i needed to get a tetnus, diptheria and whopping cough booster within 1 month of my immigration medical).
  • Get any immunity blood tests (chicken pox, measles etc) done early just in case you need to get a vaccination for those or your vaccination records cannot b e obtained. The doctors office also told me to do this while waiting for NOA's.
  • When they are writing your name down or any information about you on Xrays, blood test etc...ALWAYS CHECK THAT THEY HAVE SPELT IT CORRECTLY ( There were a couple of error which were easily corrected today because I double checked - My last name can be a bit difficult to spell)
  • If you are using both your Maiden Name and Married name (e.g. all my papers are in married name except for Passport) - Make sure they write both on all the papers.

Ti Amed asked about having the interview date before going to medical. Well on a number of occassions over the Visa journey I had contacted USCIS, NVC and consulate and they told me not to have the medical until instructed. Whilst awaiting transfer of file from NVC to consulate and while consulate review our file, the consulate said I could go to medical - so I booked it right away. Luckily in Sydney, you can get an appointment within a couple of days.

Now just waiting for the interview date from the consulate. Fingers crossed its next week or week after.

Good luck all.

HOpe this helps you all have a smooth and successful medical.

Cheers,

Hi all! :)

hey all.... how are you all coping with the waiting... i have to wait till next week to call my consulate and for them to assign me the dates :) so im here with you all waiting and waiting and waiting as well.....im so glad i got to know about VJ... i dont know what i would have done without you all!! (L)

This waiting totally sucks!! I mean the freakin' case is complete and all docs ready!! WHYYYYY OH WHYYYYY WE MUST WAIT ALL THE WAY TO JUNE?? SO NOT FAIR  I AM TRYING SO HARD TO BE PATIENT. ONE THING I TAKE SOLACE IN IS CHANGING THE NUMBER OF DAYS ON MY COUNTDOWN EVERY DAY

Yep. In El Salvador we must go to 2 appointments, the first is for documents review (it takes almost 4 hours.. review... waiting time... review another stuff... waiting time...)

And the second is the real Interview with the CO... and the approve moment!

And I hope 3 days later.... I'll receive my pasaport with the Visa :star:

On June 12th this stress will be over!

:wow: THAT'S CRAZY!! 4 HRS?? WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY REVIEWING FOR 4 HRS?!! THE NVC ALREADY OKAYED EVTG...I DON'T GET THIS BUREAUCRACY STUFF SOMETIMES I SWEAR. SAME THING FOR MY CONSULATE. I MEAN WE HAD A DATE FOR K3 ON MAY 4TH THEY COULD HAVE EASILY MOVED UP OUR CR1 BUT NOOOOOOOO THEY CAN'T FOR SOME ODD WEIRD REASON AND THEY SAID THEY MUST FOLLOW THE DATE NVC ASSIGNED. WHY IN THE WORLD IT'S OK IN SOME CONSULATES AROUND THE WORLD AND NOT AT OURS BEATS ME :wacko::blink:

In Islamabad, pakistan ,it can still take ages to get ur passport back after interview :crying:

So i m not making any plans yet like every body else :crying:

ATK, I hope the "ages" is as short as possible for u :star: For us I believe it's between 1-2 weeks. Always more wait for muslim/middle eastern countries as there is a chance for post interview AP. Oh Lord, I hope it's not more than 2 weeks especially that we have already underwent AP at NVC :crying: I totally know how u feel!!

:clock:

I know the feeeling!!

finally, i got scheduled on June 22, 2009 at 6:30am US Embassy Manila. whew! wish me luck! should i have a medical now?

thanks

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy  congrats! Our case was shipped yesterday ( a day after the interview was assigned) but it still is not showing on the DHL website as of yet. I believe it will be visible later on today.

I always thought that you only can have the medical exam after the interview appointment assigned. but that good to know

Ta Ahmed Ti, it's not always true. It all depends on ur consulate. They are all different, so check with them.

when was your case completed? Yes you can take your medical - just bring the original copy of NOA2

case completed April 24, 2009. The notice i got was from my agents email, he just forwarded the notice (stating my date of interview and other details) and printed it. is this valid as an original copy?

since my interview is on June 22, when is the best time to have a medical exam? Should I just go to the desired clinic(st.lukes) and present the printed letter together with my passport and picture?

thanks
