Expecting Interview in June

hi all... got case complete on the 17th as well.... hopefully June will bring us all some luck!!

Hi,

The AVR finally said Case Complete at NVC! I am so glad I don't have to deal with them anymore, except to call and push for interview.

You know, I looked at the statistics of how many Aussies immigrate to the US each year and its about 1500. So the schedule at the Consulate cannot be that busy??? When I spoke to the operator at NVC, she said they were just waiting to hear back from the consulate...So I am still hoping and praying for May interview. She did tell me to call back Monday and there should be some news - otherwise my husband is going to start complaining.

I must admit though, I have just felt alot of stress come off my shoulders since I know there is no RFE for NVC! What a relief! I already have my papers ready for interview and my bags are packed. I am ready to go!!!!

Lets all join in a group prayer and pray this part goes really quick! I also want to say a prayer for all those VJers whose support has been incredible through this difficult time! God bless you all!

By the way, I forgot to mention that I asked the NVC operator if I can go to my medical now that my case is complete and she insisted NO! She said I had to wait for interview! What difference does it make and how come some people go before hand and nothing is wrong with that? I called the civil doctor in Sydney a few weeks ago and he said I can come in anytime and that I don't have to wait! Who do you believe?????

Not me but hopefully Monday? I got the Sign In Failed yesterday on the website, but this morning the AVR says the same ol' "case is being reviewed ... wait 6-8 weeks" or whatever. I'll call first thing Monday to see what I can find out. Anyway, hoping to join this June thread soon.

Corinne, the Sydney consulate no doubt has tons of other visas to process besides immigrant visas, and probably allocates certain days/hours to do so. Fingers crossed they can fit you in May, but June is just around the corner, as I keep reminding myself.

YOu should consider your case complete if you are getting the sign on error. Congrats in advance!

Surprisingly, they Sydney consulate doesn't have a lot of visa to process. Since the Visa Waiver it has significantly decreased. The only time they get busy also is when Qantas or Jetstar do a mass cabin crew recruitment or when the cruiseships recruit in Australia. Besides that it seems to be quiet. I was there 3 times late last year and it was dead. Also given that only about 1500 aussies immigrate to the US every year....I don't imagine that it is that busy.

Yes June is just around the corner. But my birthday is early May and my hubby is mid june. We have accepted that we will miss my birthday, but I must get there for my hubbys!

it's weird AVR say case reviewed but not complete. It does sound like you're almost at the end. From the above list, gixbr has also gotten the same error y'day. I am waiting to hear official completion from both of you soon :D

I know, Champi - it's like they're thinking, These people are moving along pretty smoothly, let's give them one more weekend of anxiety.

Corinne, sounds like you've researched the Sydney consulate thoroughly. You probably know what kind of cookies they have with their morning tea.

Yes, they love the Tim Tams! Lol, Besides I have been to consulate so many times I have lost count!

People don't realise how small Sydney really is. It has just over 3 million people. Its hard to go anywhere in Sydney without bumping into someone you used to go to school with or worked with or friend of a friend etc..
