Does anyone know what freedom either Americans or Canadians have about attaining the notes made on individual passports? Last time we crossed the border the Canadian official stated she was going to make some 'remarks' on my husbands American passport, but she wouldn't let us know what they were, so we feel left in the dark about the whole thing. Just curious to know what rights and freedoms we have when it comes to passport information.

Best Regards,

IA

You can fill out a FOIA request with Homeland Security.

They will give you the information - just go to the HS site and search for FOIA.

Ah - linky

FOIA

You can even get all your travel points... spooky what they track...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I would analyse the conversation you had with them during the POE and I bet you could come up with a pretty fair idea.

She's talking about the Canadian POE.

I believe they probably do share some info, I doubt they share each and every border crossing note - but who knows!

Plus, if it was not them who entered the info then their first response when they receive an FOI request would be to refer them back to the originating authority.
