I-765 question

Hi everyone,

I am currently filing my I-485, I-130, 1-765 and I-131 all together. I have just one question.

I am a F-1 student currently on OPT, so I have already received an EAD card before. On the I-765, do I say I am applying for a renewal EAD because I already have one or do I say I am filing for an intial EAD since this EAD will be based on my AOS?

Initial... because you are applying for a new EAD based on "new" type of category

Initial... because you are applying for a new EAD based on "new" type of category

That is very correct because its in a different category from your OPT card. Don't forget to include copies of your I-20 Goodluck!

Also on the I-765:

Question 11 asks if you've ever applied for Employment Authorization thru USCIS before. I have had TN Visas for 7 years - do they count as Employment Authorization? Or are they simply asking if I've ever filed an I-765 before?
