2009 Poverty Guidlines

I am an American citizen who has been living and working in Beijing the past 5 years. I have filed taxes all 5 years but my income is not a US based income. My income has been paid to me in cash (rmb) by my Chinese employers.

My question/issue is: My fiancee of 5 years is Russian and we have been living in China together for the past 5 years. This month we plan to get married here in Beijing and I will file the I-130 soon after the marriage.

In June I will return to America to seek employment and get an apartment ready for her arrival.

How will it work with me not having any past US income for the past 5 years, but I have tax returns filed every year?

Will they base it on income of the job I secure after i return to America?

Will my income in China have any bearing even though it wasn't from a US company?

**** I do not have any significant savings, property or other assets, although I am confident that the job I get will be much higher than the 125% poverty line requirements.

Thank you for any help.
