I am a non-US citizen fiance residing in Japan for more than 10 years.

We were waiting for over 5 months to hear from USCIS and our application was approved. (Thank God!)

After getting a letter from the American Embassy in Tokyo, we were rather surprised that

i was not asked to get the Japanese Police Certificate, nor the Military Discharge Records for my part

as said on their website.

Since the requested papers with photos were delivered to them, it has been 12 working days

and i have not heard anything back from the Consulate Section, which makes us both nervous.

Should i go to the Police office and request a certificate on my own? It is believed that

they will issue it in no earlier than 2 weeks anyway.

I do not think i should be annoying the Embassy by calling thus resulting in more delays.
