The interview took almost an hour because I had to explain to the officer the expedited citizenship under section 319 B . Good thing I had the information printed off of the Internet. When we had that cleared, he asked me 8 US History questions, which I got all correct Then he went through the N-400 application with me and stamped it APPROVED.

The officer said I could have done my oath had my interview been scheduled that morning, I can either come back the following day or next week. Luckily, hubby and I packed extra clothes since I somehow anticipated something like this would happen, so I told him that we'll come back the following and just stay at a hotel nearby. He gave me an appointment slip to come back at 1PM.

The ceremony took about 2 hours. With certificate in hand, I text paged my Mom right after we got out of the building to share the good news. It's a happy day indeed and I'm glad hubby was there to share it with me.

Thanks meauxna! And to everyone here on the boards! This forum has been a great help throughout this process. By reading experiences posted and graciously shared by VJers, I learn to always bring printouts of info I might need, cuz some government workers may not know all the rules. Also from here, I found out that the oath can be done right after the interview if the latter is done in the morning, so I took mental note to bring extra clothes cuz my interview was scheduled in the afternoon, if they can do the oath same day then there will be no problem doing it the following day.
