I am applying for an advance parole document but plan 2 trips back to Ireland while I am waiting on my AOS. Can I apply for both trips on one advance parole document and incur one fee or do I need 2 AP docuements and have to pay for 2? The I-485 only has room for one trip.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to put any other trips down.... you just go whenever you want.

You will receive 2 AP documents, take them both with you on your first trip outside the U.S. and show them when you return to the U.S. They will stamp one of them and most likely keep the other one (although they gave me both back, but that's not usual). Then, when you travel outside the U.S. every time after that, just take your AP document with you and show it when you re-enter the U.S.

The I-485 is not used for the advance parole at all. The I-131 is used. Leave the dates of trips blank or enter "to be determined" and you will receive an open ended AP good for a year. If you file the AP with the AOS there is no fee for the AP. If you file it separately, before the AOS you must pay $340.

Do not be surprised if it takes as long, or longer to get the AP. My wife received her green card before the AP. The term "advance" in the name does NOT mean it is processed faster or "advanced" ahead of anything, it means it is an advance permission to leave the country and return to complete you AOS.

Not necessarily so.

Not everyone gets approved for a greencard that quickly!

You need a copy of a photo id showing name, and date of birth (license, passport id page, I-551, PRC, or any other official id doc)

You need a copy of the AOS NOA.

( I will take it you are still in the US)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

You do not have to pay a fee if filed with the I-485. The document is for multiple entries until it expires and you do not have to specify a date. I left it blank, but some answer "to be determined"

Be aware, when you file it with the AOS it is not unusual to receive the green card first or the AP just a few days before the green card, but it is free and a simple form, so why not? You also need to attach separate passport photos for both documents.

Oh - scratch my part of adding the NOA - I misread your post, I thought you all ready sent in the AOS package.
