hi all

unfortunately things did not work out and I am filing for divorce in the next week or so. I already have my green card (i got it through the k1 visa process). i am returning back to canada. do i need to do something from an immigration stand point?

You have a conditional green card.

I assume you are then giving up your residency... if so there is a process to return your card ....

If you don't file to remove (I-751) the conditions on your 2-year GC, your GC will be automatically void anyway.

You do not have to do anything. If you want to continue keeping your GC despite the divorce, you have to file I-751

then you will probably go for the interview & try to prove that the marriage was entered by parties in good faith & completely bona fide.

It is up to you, the question is "Do you want to keep your GC" ?
