hi vjers... i was born in Bohol and during that time the spelling of my birth place was Jetafe, Bohol but the current spelling now is Getafe, Bohol. according to the municipality the first spelling of the place was Getafe since the Spanish regime and when Americans conquer them they changed it to Jetafe and just the year of 1995 it was being changed to it's original spelling to Getafe. now, on my NSO paper (security paper) it is spelled as Jetafe since i was born in 1985 so obviously i was under the American regime spelling the letter J. so, my problem now is my passport is spelled based on my NSO paper which is Jetafe and my current forms are Getafe. I have with me a copy of resolution of changing the spelling back to its original which is letter G. for my visa applications like my biographic i already used Getafe. will it affect my visa process? it is not my fault that it changes spelling :( . did u happen to hear same situation like mine? im so super confused now :(

thanks for dropping by and reading my story:)

God Bless :)

YOu are okay dear. They actually based what's written on your NSO BC. Since you used that in your forms you can make corrections to it by contacting USCIS. I dont know how long you send your papers.

Hello,

I was born in Davao Del Norte, now compostela valley already...so even if my birthplace is no longer now in Phil Map, till I die i'd still follow what is in my BC, I know that they wont verify about places here in PhIL as long as ur papers are complete, so, during my interview, the pre screener never asked me about it. In my NSO, BC and NBI all Maco Davao Del Norte...thanks God I passed.

But dont worry, ul be fine...Good Luck and God Bless.

I would not worry too much about it if I were you.Its good anyway that you are using the current spelling on the forms you did the right thing and its not your fault, if you will be question just present that document you have. You will worry if your name is mispelled or your birthdate is wrong.
