My favorite kind of grated cheese for putting on food is Romano cheese, Locatteli brand, oh my-I'm always tempted to eat that by the spoonful. The Italian side of the family has favored it for years and years. I rarely have it anymore! I am too cheap.

i'm crazy about cheese, so i really depends. i voted other to include catupiry, which is one of my favorites. then if it's as an appetizer, parmesan, then depending on what i'm cooking i love gorgonzola and love blue cheese, also cream cheese is one of my favorites, oh and havarti, and i love provolone too, and cheddar if it's melted, like creamy cheddar.
