Hi all.....to be honest...I'm really tired of waiting for my K-3 application to be processed.....and with this new IMBRA situation....I have a feeling my wife will be waiting a long time......

I filed my paperwork back in late March 2006......and according to the USCIS website, my application was recieved on April 13, 2006.....As of today...I'm still waiting for any kind of response.....

Here's my question:

My wife is in Taiwan and I've already talked to the consular office in Taiwan (AIT). They have assured me it takes only approx. 4 weeks for all the paperwork to go through.....My question is...will I be able to file another K-3 application at the consular office? I'm sure 4 weeks from now....I'll still be waiting on word from IMBRA......

I rather pay another $170 and get my wife here in 4 weeks rather than wait until who knows when the IMBRA thing will straighten out......

I-129F for a K-3 cant be filed at a consulate, they are processed through the USCIS. What I think you may be asking about is what is referred to as DCF (direct consular filing). This is done with the I-130 etc. Where abouts is your current I-130 in the process?

I think US embassy in Taiwan allows you to file DCF with no residencial requirement for US citizens, so that will be ur best option. You can file another I-130 in Taiwan and they will advise you how to withdraw the current one that is under processing.

How did your friends' cases get approved so quickly? Aren't they still processing cases from Dec. 17, 2006 for the I-130s? My I-130 was recieved on March 29, 2006 and when I log into the USCIS website, it says it was last updated April 5, 2006 which I assume was just a update because of the check being cleared.

When do you expect my I-130 to be approved? And after approval, how long is it usually before my wife can come here to the US?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!!

First and foremost; why don't you just wait out the 4 weeks, like you were told? If nothing happens, then you should consider other courses of action.

Be patient!
