Worried about not getting advance parole

Did you bother reading the replies?

It appears not.

I do read replies and hope for suggestion on what should I do to make my situation simple. I tried to check on I601 but I got confuse on that. I hate to be given another form to fill especially another fee to pay.

I am now frustratingly waiting for I131 expedite, which initially I was told to wait within 5 days, then USCIS email to wait within 30 days - that would be around 17 May. Oh my God! I keep saying to myself. I hope to travel end of May because an airline offer huge ticket discount then in the first week of June, which I have to be there already.

I also wonder why they take so long time to call me up for interview to my greencard, which I already submitted everything in late January. Do anyone knows when is the time frame my husband and I will be called for interview. What taking them so long? I dont have criminal record, dont do drugs or drink.

Can anyone tell me some good news or suggestions.

I would suggest you calm down and not risk your marriage or your residency just because of a good price on an airline ticket. Or because you are wound up about settling things back home.

Honestly. That's really the best suggestion you need.

I know homesickness is hard, but I really think you should wait for your GC. Have you checked out the 'dealing with homesickness' thread in the 'moving to america' forum? There are some really good suggestions there. Is it really worth it to possibly face a ban (if you have enough overstay) or even have your application considered abandoned (by leaving with no AP), when if you waited just a little longer you should get your GC and everything be ok? Sticking it out now should really pay off in the long run.

Removing conditions:

10/9/10 - Package sent to Vermont

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

Thank guys for your good words. I am keeping my self cool and patience. I plan to call USCIS in few days and check to what's going on. I even plan to make another INFOPASS appointment and this time I can tell them, my application I131 is in their system and expedite request already made. I know the guy at the counter cannot be more helpful that the people who answer the USCIS calls, but I may just giving it a try.

I have to get home not just because my weak and old aunt (my late mother's sister) is missing me. I MUST vacate my household and personal belongings from the apartment I used to stay. I cannot risk losing a lot of my belongings and people I care about, in exchange for new state and one person.

My very last attempt

1) You say you have been here over a year.

2) So you have been out of status for at least 6 months maybe longer.

3) You have at least a 3 year ban if you leave before adjusting status.

They will issue you with AP eventually, it will not get you back into the US.

If you really want to preserve your things in your apartment, and are waiting for your green card, and cannot get anyone to clear out your apartment for you... can you maybe figure out a way to continue to rent the apartment until you can get there? Think of it like paying for a storage facility instead of rent, and then it won't seem strange. I'm sure your loved ones 'back home' aren't going to disown you if you wait a few more months.

Just an idea. Don't know if it will help or not. I'm just thinking that a few months of rent to store everything could save you from a ban or losing your personal items.

Good luck

or could you ask your husband very nicely to go there without you to get your things for you? As a USC, he doesn't have to worry about being allowed to come back.

good news and bad news

I am so happy now that I got the Advanced Parole letter - so I could fly back and come back here, hopefully without any problem.

But the big worries I have now is about the pig flu! It would be worrisome for my safe health and also people I come in contact with.

I personally would allow my family to hug me when I came to town.

I would go straight to my apartment and quarantine myself for 7 days. That is also by order of the Singapore government for people coming from USA.

I have to be there by early June so I now pray to GOD for the world to be free of infectious disease.

We all could only plan our life but the reality is GOD is the best of all Planners.

Thanks everyone for your good concern.

My advice to everybody in this time of FLU BREAK

KEEP YOUR HANDS, SHOES AND BAG CLEAN TOO. Dont walk around the home with outdoor shoes. Dont place your handbag etc on floor -

dont let germs settle on your body or belongings and you bring back home.

Oppps

I am not selfish - I WOULD NOT ALLOW anyone to hug me when I reach my home town.

You never needed Advaced Parole to leave.

And why do you think you would be let back in?
