Packet 3 question

Abdalla and i are waiting for Packet 3 to show up but it has been 35 days since the approval from USCIS and still no packet 3.

Any one know if this is normal or not? I have tried to call NVS and USCIS ( totally worthless customer service!)

and they say its been sent to Cairo, but i don't trust these people, most of them couldn't find there way out a wet paper bag

Also, i sent my original divorce paper in with my packet to the USCIS, do i need to send it again to go wiht packet 3 or no?

A lot of people on here also ahve hard times reciving mail from the embassy, my fiance and i did not wait for packet 3, when we found out that the had sent it out, we mailed it in the second day, we read everything we needed online and with the help of other vj memebers

in packet 3, i sent ds 230 part1, applicant statement, and checklist, which you can get online

you should ask someone that is having there case done at same embassy as you, and ask them what steps they took

My friend which is not on this site is from Florida and is on the same process you guys are, she was approved in March as well. Her husband is from Egypt as well, they recieved the packet 3 without there instuctions included just last week. So now there are doing the papers now and I believe they are going to emabassy to pick up packet. Ill find out for sure and post tomarrow.

Hubby never got packet 3. We emailed Cairo and asked for it by email. He followed the instructions, mailed it in and within a week or so he had an interview date.

You do not need to include your divorce papers in Packet #3.... You should never send original documents. Order an other certified copy of your divorce papers from now. You most likely won't be getting them back, and you will need them again (and again, and again)....

If you send me your email address in a PM I will send you the entire contents of my husband's Packet #3. (He scanned it all and emailed it to me here, so I still have all of it...) But beware, there is often inaccurate info the instructions... (wrong fee amount, etc.) so always best to download the latest forms and use the info on the Cairo Embassy's website as a guide.
