Hi Everyone!

Nath flies out here tomorrow (FINALLY!!!), and just had a question about the x-rays. He has his K1 visa in his passport, and the sealed envelope, but does he need his x-rays as well or can he just chuck them in his luggage? Apparently they're bulky and he'd rather not bother with them in his carry-on.

I looked through POE interviews, and only one of the 54 reviews for Newark mentioned having their x-rays. Any advice on this?

Thanks!!

They usually don't do anything with xrays - but I would carry them with me - some paperwork I never let out of my sight.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

not newark POE specific information, but sounds like you can pack the xray in your checked luggage.

Yes, definitely pack the x-ray in checked luggage. I can't imagine how much of a pain in the butt it would be to carry it in the cabin - it's tricky enough getting it out of London on the Tube

Basically, in the hopefully unlikely event that they decide to put him into secondary processing, he'll be sent to reclaim his baggage and can get his x-ray out then.

Like others have said, most people don't get their x-ray examined at all but I really wouldn't recommend not taking it at all - just one wrong sounding *cough* at the passport desk and they'll probably want to see it.....

I put mine in my checked luggage, especially as it's a very large oversized envelope. Wasn't asked for it by the immigration guy.

Honolulu POE took the xrays from my wife. I blew it and told her to put them in her luggage and it took a while for her to get them. That was before they used CDs in PI and xrays were BIG and bulky.
