Well today I went to the grocery and while I was driving back I got a call from my mom who was at my house. She said, you got something in the mail from Department of Homeland Security. I was like "OPEN IT NOW" I was so excited. I thought it was my approval. But NOOOO it was an RFE. I sent a translated copy of my marriage contract with my application. Evidently, they wanted the original as well. So as soon as I got it I ran myself up to the post office and sent it back priority mail. So guys, tell me how much additional time is this RFE gonna add to my case???

Doesn't add too much time/delay - besides the time it takes to respone (back and forth in the mail)...

Usually, the officer who sent the RFE keeps the file on their desk till evidence is received. So once receive, most likely will start on petition again shortly. Dont worry, atleast you know its starting to be work on.

You should send original’s photocopy along with translated ones.

I sent original certificate photocopy and translated.

We got an RFE in the AOS process. Once we turned in the paperwork we had an approval within a few weeks. Good luck!

We were approved very shortly after returning the required information to USCIS after our RFE.
