So my fiance told me that she just received the K1 Visa instructions. I'm not really good at this type of stuff, but does that mean she will have to do her medical screening for this? are we pretty close to setup ourselves up to marry? I recently posted about NOA1 and NOA2. My situation was that I'm out to sea so I cant check to see if i received my NOA1 or NOA2 yet. But by assuming by what my fiance got in the mail today, she got her K-1 Visa instructions. She took a little picture of the document with her cell phone, but what happens after the K-1 Visa instructions? Whats my role going to be now?

Hi Vu,

If your fiancee received her instructions for what to gather and send to the embassy, then you are on your way towards her K1 interview. She'll have to gather some documents, such as police certs, immunizations, etc (they're all listed in the guides and her checklist) and then return the check list to the embassy. Then they'll schedule an interview for her. The interview date could be anywhere from a month to 3 months or more from the time she sends in her completed checklist.

So yes, this means you are on your way, but it's not over yet, unfortunately.

Good luck!

That means she can set her interview schedule and medical exam. Your role now is still "to wait" or prepare your marriage ceremony. Once she will be approved on her visa interview and received her visa, you and her will be united and that will be forever......God bless and best wishes in advance.

Your role will be in gathering proof that you can support her. Look at the I-134 form and required documentation. Good luck!

Wow thanks for all the feedback guys, it really means alot to me. I'm so happy I will be marrying the lady of my dreams. I hope everything goes well for me.....I'm trying to get all this stuff done as soon as possible because my unit will be deploying soon in september for 6 months. :crying: Just to throw it out there, how much does a typical small wedding cost? Think of this as a bonus question!

I got married in Honolulu, Hawaii and spent 6 nights there before flying here in SFO. We did a sunset wedding, very simple, solemn, typical wedding. This is the site who arranged our marriage: http://www.alohaforeverhawaiiweddings.com/
