I called the IRS number, and the ability to order tax return transcripts doesn't seem to be possible any longer through their automated system. Now when you get to to the end of the automated system, it says the office is closed and to call back during the weekday.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

is the tax return for 2008 the same one that the us citizen fills himself right? (im the beneficiary)

and yes queuedup... i had to talk to an operator to request the transcripts

System must be down. Same thing happened about a year ago. Just call during business hours.

Queuedup, I received my 2008 IRS tax transcript by using automated phone service in one week.

Few years back, I got it by fax and I do not know now, as I did not try.

I tried using the automated system two weeks ago, and my return had not been processed yet. But when you try the system now, as soon as you hit the option to request a transcript it says the office is closed. Very strange.

since my husband filled the 2008 tax and got the tax return already.... the one he filed... is that enough with the W-2?
