Hi , i am new to this fourm, i have two quetions

my mother has filled my petition under family F3 catagory in Nov 2004 , and they received I-797

(1) i have not received any communication from USIC to directly me in india , now it is almost 4.5 years how can i know the status of my case ? my friend whose case is the same but his petition was filled in jan 07 has got NVC number to his residence in india .

(2) dose USIC has alloted my NVC case numer ? if so from where i can get that number

anyone please help me

You can register online to see your current status; https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp. You will need the information form the I-797; including your USCIS case number. You can find out if USCIS has approved your petition and forwarded it to the NVC. Once USCIS forwards your case to the NVC, the NVC will issue you a NVC case number.

thanks aaron2020 , i can find tht status of my case form the URL given by you and if it is approved then only NVC will give case number
