I know this has been posted in earlier threads but I still can't make up my mind. Anybody here who has recent experience sending his stuffs to the US? Which turned out to be cheaper - bringing them with you in your flight and paying for the excess baggage or sending them separately through ocean shipping?

Thank you.

I actually don't know the answer, like you , I'm also waiting for anyone to answer this question. There are some stuff I want to take with me and I fear our baggage allowance won't be enough.

I only paid USD $150 for my 70 lbs excess baggage. I inquired with Fedex and DHL before, the quoted >$200. Computing the cost, having excess baggage is cheaper for me.

Hope this help.

Ocean Shipping on a Boat will be slow as in months

If you can wait it will be cheaper.

Probably best for most people to just pay excess shipping on the plane and get your stuff over here with you when you arrive

i know my girlfriend used to buy an extra suitcase. for some reason it was better to pay for the extra suitcase then to have over weight luggage. u can check with the airlines on the cost of an extra one compared to over weight one. also u can get more into an extra one.
