Hi,.Pareho pala tayo..you are lucky to have 1filipina friend, before, I had none, all my friends were internationals so we spoke english obviously...

so when I got back2 the philippines,.culture shock!!!!

the only way that you can really practice tagalog is to be around people speaking it or hearing the language most of the time..ganun din ako date me accent when I speak tagalog but when I went back to pinas and studied there for college that is when it started to come back to me all over again,..I was surprised kase derecho ako magsalita ng tagalog...it was funny too because I had the accent,..but I am soooo happy to marry a filipino man..I get to speak tagalog anytime with him..also my dad, when he spoke to me it would be tagalog and I would always answer back in english..kaya, sanay lang yan sa bahay..matututunan mo ulet...

Good luck...

good news. i needed to update my prescription for my contacts and my optometrist's assistant is filipina. Siya ang organizer ng filipino events and gathering sa Aberdeen, WA (which is a pretty small town) and I was shocked to find out that theres a filipino community as it is mostly Caucasian and Mexican population. I Rarely saw any asians. Masayang masaya ako. Plus the optometrist is also part of the filipino culture. May bahay siya sa Pilipinas and volunteer mission work sa Pinas for people who need assistance w/ their eyes.

Now I can update my tagalog and its not so "old fashioned" haha.

Medyo nahihiya akong mag take pictures dito sa US, taking lang ako kung important occassions. Noong nasa Pinas ako, marami akong pictures with friends.
