I just want to introduce myself in Philippine forum.

So, I moved to Canada when I was 10 years old. I am now 25 years old and very westernized. I have to practice my tagalog kasi meron akong english accent when I speak tagalog. Plus I speak Pangtaglish @ home. haha. (pangasinanse tagalog english). So does my parents when they are talking to us. I understand perfect tagalog. I just want to be able to speak it since I am moving to US with my hubby and wala akong mga filipino friends and family in the area. I never had any filipino friends since 16 yrs old. long story - it all involved gossiping and i hate chismiss. I only have 1 filipina friend b/c i met her when i first moved to canada & she is not into chismiss so i love her for that. haha. So bare with me. I hope there are others like me.

So kumusta!

chorva - a term that can be used as a noun, an adjective, a verb, or an adverb. it practically replaces everything.

example:

ang chorva ni mariel!

ang ganda ng chorva ni mariel.

chorvahin mo nga si mariel.

Edited by felb

ROC mailed to USCIS -- June 10, 2011

ROC approved -- November 1, 2011

finally free of USCIS paperwork!

japan, japan! sagot sa kahirapan!

We are mabuti. :) Kumusta ka?

This is a good thread. My fiance is also learning basic Tagalog. He knows some Tagalog words and phrases already.

Good luck sa pag-aaral mo ng tagalog. :)

hahaha...Gay Lingo na ito...pero its consider slang na rin (i guess...)

Gay Lingo - are words used by Gays so people would have a hard time understanding them!...But most of the people, whether guys or gals use this now...

KEBER - "i dont care"

naku mga kaibigan, paumanhin. baka hindi magandang halimbawa ang pagbibigkas ng mga salitang hindi tunay na tagalog. dahil bagamat ito ay nakakapagbigay ligaya sa atin, maaaring mawala na sa ating pananalita ang kaluluwa ng ating magandang wika.

huh? ano daw?

Ex:

Keber ko sa ginagawa ni felb.4fvfcja.gif

hahahaha. in fairness nakabawi ka.

lola (ko/mo) - no longer used as tagalog for "grandmother". in gay lingo it refers to all females.

ex:

tignan mo si mariel, winner ang lola mo!
