Aruba is beautiful

I know. We went two years ago to visit his mother. It's kinda quiet that why I wanted to go during Memorial Day...Jamie Foxx, Robin Thicke, Common, Estelle, Wayne Brady and Etana are performing so far...can't find anyone else to go with me .

Damien just told me to go to Aruba by myself and stay with his mother I would never make it back

You know I ain't going...his mother is much nicer than before but she a twin sister who is EVIL. They now live together and got a 3 bedroom apartment so he said he can stay with them next trip...that is not gonna to happen.

LOL me too - Identical twins, one a sweetheart, the other evil - From a distance you can't tell them apart - but up close, there is a subtle difference in their smile and eyes - one is creepy

I really wanted to go to Aruba Memorial Day weekend but Mr. Workaholic said No. There's a big soul festival there...I could have been there while he visits his mother Maybe I'll end up in JA..

Speaking of Aruba...I watched the Natalie Holloway movie on Lifetime last night. Anyone else catch it?

I did it was pretty good and so sad. I wish he wouldn’t have thrown her in the sea. I wish he would have left her and called for help anonymously. Like what if she still was alive? It also made me see how foolish and blessed I am. I only met my SO once and then the next time I seen him he was picking me up at the airport and we wee on our way to his freaking house. Like he could have killed me and no one would have known where ta find me. When I think back I realize how lucky I really am that he was/is a good guy. Man oh man I do feel so foolish....

I also watched the movie after that where the lady got her girl back after six years. She knew that was her baby and she was right and I also watched The #1 Ladies Detective Agency. Jill Scott must have really studied hard for that part because has that accent down pact!!

Afternoon Yardies!

I just got done watching Made of Honor and I enjoyed this movie. At first it started off kind of slow and corny but after a while I was chuckling and really enjoying it. Why is it all morning mi phone not ring and as soon as I was into the movie it rings off the hook. Talk about bad timing!

I am not blaming the hijacking on it being in JA - or that it should cause additional worry about safety in JA, although we all know it will for some - It's just crazy that it happened at all, and in reality, it appears to have been handled really well and quickly, without injury to anyone - Someone I work with just reminded me that today is a day when crazy things tend to happen - it's Hitler's bday, the 10th anniversary of Columbine, the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing,...

It's also 'National 420 Day' & hundreds will gather at Hippie Hill in Golden Gate park this afternoon at 4:20 to partake in well, you know, 420!

I want to go to Sicily some day, Thailand, New Zealand & Australia, all over West Africa, Spain & everywhere! But for now, it's just Jamaica....there could be worse places to have to go!

Sus I'm with you. I was doing well seeing the world and flying all over the place den I juss had to go to Jamaica and meet his rass now the only stamps in mi passport is MBJ. I have been on 12 trips in the last two years and there all to the same place. When I think about how many places I could have been to by now I get so upset but then I think about the times I had in Jamaica and well I'm not that vexed anymore. Ahhhhhh.

Same here DaDa....I was going to be a travel bug....now I only go one place.

OK... now... here is a little adjustment story:

Derron is finding himself homesick and bored still! We went to check on his SS card on Friday only to be told that the NVC had not issued out anything yet. Well, they said we could apply there w/ them and so we did... BUT now he has to wait 4 weeks more til he gets a card. The dude who was helping said Derron could call back in 2 weeks to see if a number is generated for him and if so he could print him out a form w/ his number. (*NOTE: Had I known this would happen, we would have gone to SS offfice on his first week of being here... maybe you should do the same) Anyway, so back to the drawing board. He has been learing his way around here a lil bit. He does not like being lost, so he sticks to what he knows as far as driving places. He is interested in taking some classes... anyone have any insight on this as far as what he needs to get into a community college or tech school, ex: diploma, transcripts, etc??? We have been cooking alot.. he seems to like mexican food!! That's a bonus for me, since I can deliver that!! Oh, and he swears hot water makes his skin lighter!! He states he's gotten lighter since he's been here (a lil over 3 weeks) I don't really notice any change. Other than that... things are pretty good. He LOVES getting phone calls from home, but has noticed that even those are starting to wind down. My poor baby... I try not to take things personal, but it can be trying. And what I mean by this is: when he states he's homesick, and misses family... I immediately go into... I'M YOUR FAMILY mode... or ALL YOU NEED IS ME!! mode... (I know, I'm spolied and rotten!! But I'm learning ) And then I think of all he's left behind, including his son! So I just listen and encourage him that things will get better soon!

Ok... that's all for today. Ya'll have a good one!! I'll try and check before I leave work. Seems like when I get home, I don't get a chance to log-on... have to entertain Derron... Tough job, but someone's got to do it!!

I know I'll probably feel this way too but will have to keep reminding myself of the sacrifices he had to make to get here. Glad you keep recognizing!

i saw the previews, but never caught it.. i remember that was my mom's MAIN reason she didn't want me to go to the Bahamas by myself back in 07, "remember that girl quana".. it was a scary time, but that was my first trip to visit Roger after we met.. wild horses couldn't have kept me away.. LOL

I feel the same way since I also went down alone for our first 'real' meeting after meeting the 1st time. Of course, I'm so glad I took that risk now and thankful too that he's a good guy.

This weekend I watched Hotel Rwanda on PBS Sat night & Blood Diamond last night. I've had enough of African civil war movies for a while.....it's just heartbreaking to watch & imagine the terrors that the people there have gone through. Then it feels even worse knowing that there's little any of us will ever be able to do to help the situation. Let me tell you one thing though, I haven't been too keen on diamonds ever since the conflict back in the late 90s & NOW, I really don't want any diamonds.....EVER!

Both for baseball related activities

Sedalia, MO in August to see this singer I like at State Fair and hopefully ride a mechanical bull

It's all good as long as not home!
