I need some advice

I know this has been talked about a million times before

but i am really struggling with the decision to do the K3 or CR1

for the K3 filers, what made you choose to go this route instead of CR1

and for the CR1 files, what made you choose this over K3?

Hi Bunzarelli...

My husband and I are going the CR-1 route. Like Rox said before, there is really no difference in time. We just thought it would be better because we wouldn't have to deal with the AOS stuff (and additional filing and fees) once he gets here, and he will automatically be granted a SS card and his EAD card (employment authorization) so he will be looking for work right away. I'm thinking by the time he sets foot in the states we would have been married for 2 years, so we will be granted the CR-1 visa and be given the 10 year greencard. Hope this helps, and good luck!

... The weather is beautiful outside, but I am inside trying to make summer camp plans and vacation plans for this lili lady.

I wish I could say the same. It is STORMING in Houston. Started last night and continuing today. It's been dark & stormy from the minute I woke up. Not the nicest day to go outside. But it's a great day for talking on the phone & doing chores! And watching tv and reading stuff online. And going back to sleep. Which I'll do. Right now. Toodles!

Oh, and I echo the question to Jawi about where's the rest of Stella.

I think sometimes people see VJ as the only place where they get support for what they are going through. So normally announcements are met with a chorus of support but when all of a sudden, we too are questioning their decision, it's hard to deal with the fact that even the people they thought they could count on now disagree.

I do understand the vital function VJ plays for a lot of people, but like a true friend, VJ tells you what you NEED to consider because we CARE!

And that rings true often for 'non-supportive' friends and family.

They aren't supportive because they are scared for you. Not because they hate you and don't want you to be happy. They assume for whatever reason (ie racism, ignorance, distrust of the age gap, stereotyping) that you're making the wrong decision and are reacting accordingly. Some people are content to allow you to make your own 'mistakes' some are not.

So please don't use the word 'hater' so casually, a true hater would urge you on while celebrating your impending misfortune.

thanks for the input to those that answered my earlier question

@ Jamerican : Welcome to Jamaica if you're really gonna come. I'm sure you've been adequately prepared with all the advice in the world. It will take ALOT of adjustment as the mentality here is alot different from the US. Most foreigners take a while to adjust to this difference in attitude. I have a neighbour who moved his family from the states here with the hopes he could raise his kids here and live good......he's leaving for the US this summer for good

I don't get the impression you're coming here for long so for you it may not be so bad.

I864 delivered November 2nd.....nvc logged it on November 5th

DS230 delivered November 6th.....nvc logged it on November 12th

Welcome to US Letter May 19th

Card production ordered May 25th
