Thank you for your support....was beginning to feel many people here were drinking a likkle to heavy out of the HATERAID punch bowl!! Its one thing to voice your opinion about something....another thing to make assumptions on how things will or won't turn out. It is a well thought out decision and feel no need to put ALL the info on FRONT PAGE on where, when or how everything is being set up to acheive a successful move. Again I'll say, I appreciate the concern for my safety but please lets not use it as an excuse to be mean or haters!

Sorry you feel that way...I think you should go for it, as long as you can financially support yourself for the time you're there and you have a co-sponsor for when you come back!! Also, I don't think Kingston does DCF, so don't count on that!

That being said, I hope it works out, what better way to be able to understand him and how hard his adjustment will be!

i am going to wait a month~ and im going to call once a week hopefully ill get a sympathetic ear

the last guy i talked to commented on how much this actually happens, i think he is super frustrated with his job

Don't apologized to her for stating your opinion, as you can see she doesn't really appreciate it. Let her go and wish her all the best. When the stress began to reach her and her husband it will only bring misery. If she wanna live, let her live. If she wanna drown, so be it. I might sound harsh, but no apologies.

I have a question...

Why is it considering hating or haterade when people give you advice that may not be the exact thing you want to hear? I personally don't have a feeling one way or the other about Jamerican's move to Jamaica. She has always stated that her love for the country far outweighed her love for any man she has been with. I give you props for not being afraid of making your dream a reality...no matter how brief. My dream is to live in Jamaica one day too...but under entirely different circumstances. I do not want to have to lift a finger...unless I am successfully managing my own company and providing better paying jobs there. Since I am broke as a joke on most days...I know that my dream will more than likely stay just that...a dream. LOL

However, I didn't think people were hating on you by stating that violence has SIGNIFICANTLY increased in recent years and with the ever declining economic climate. It is rather indulgent to think that people would hate on your chosen path just for the sake of hating or jealousy. (This is not just directed at Jamerican)...just made me think about that word being used so much. I consider just a way of looking at a situation from another viewpoint.

On the other hand, I'm sure you have gotten a lot of pushback on your decision from your family and friends...co-workers etc. So, I can understand it becoming a bit too much. Like, come on...I'm a mature adult fully capable of making an informed decision huh?

I agree with Jawi, I dont think anyone is hating on you Jamerican, and we are definatly not jealous because anyone of us could problably go live in JA if we really wanted to. People are just stating the facts. Jamaica is not an easy place to live if you dont have money like that, there is a lot of violence, poverty and corruption.

On the brighter side, people do it everyday and they do just fine. Besides theres gonna be problems wherever you go. I think it would be a wonderful experience for you to get to know the Jamaican culture and spend time with your husband so you can get to know him a lot more.

I know you are problably hearing negativity from everyone around you and VJ is usually the place where you can get some positive vibes but WE just care about you and want you to be safe, its all LOVE.

Move to Jamaica?i would love to live in Ja, if i could afford it ...and all that that implies!@ i love the people, geography, warm water and FOOOD!!! (tonight i'm craving a perfectly ripe still warmed from the sun: Mango) if Jamaica was not under siege by poverty, desperation and gun/drug mania.....Many would return . I can only pray that those who do come back with courage and vision ...and money and the will to make changes. Jamerican, you have to realize that VJ is all about people offering their advice or opinions. Don't let it get to you because people may not agree with your decisions, because in the end only you have to deal with it. Not us... Wish you all of the best in whatever you choose to do.

I'm lonely because my hubby is in Florida visiting his brother until May 4th.
