There HAS to be a better way to get this police record! I just haven't found one.

THEN, I wake up & saw several more VSC approvals... for people who submitted after me. WHERE IS MY APPROVAL???

There IS, let him take the BUS and do what he needs to do and come back the SAME day!!

I did it for job interviews when I lived in Kingston.

No disrespect to your SO, but sometimes if you want good yuh nose haffi run.

Renting a car for 2 days, staying in a hotel etc is something only the WEALTHY could afford to do in Ja, everyone ELSE would get up early and take the bus and deal with it.

Please don't be offended, but cha....

Yep. My husband took the bus to Kingston. One time it was two days in a row. Ask him today and he'll tell you it was totally worth it. He is very sensible with money and it shows to this day. He packs my lunch to save money. I love it.

Oh rub it in why don't you!!!! LOL

Renewing your vows is reafirming your commitment, so why do you feel the need to say the vows again so soo. I would think when you made it on day one, the vows are supposed to be affirmed for life. So, why so soon?

if that is the case, why EVER renew them again?

Because Ja English you are reafirming your commitment to this marriage because over time you and your husband have grown and changed .

I think the FIRST year you're together after marriage is a HUGE thing!! So yes, I was nervous listening to him say the vows again, even after just a year....And since marriages break up after MONTHS, I think renewing was special. In fact, I felt more married after renewing, because the first time felt rushed and didn't feel right without family and friends there....

I can't believe I'm still up this late. And I have a full day of work tomorrow.

Question for your opinions:

What is a good amount of notice to give your family if you're planning a ceremony in Jamaica and will invite them?

1 yr, a couple months, 2 yrs, ????

I plan to give mine 1 year's notice.

Nat are you going back to JA to get married??

My current plan is to do JoP here, have a reception for US-based family/friends.... then once Steven can travel, go have a ceremony on the beach in JA. That's when I'll have the wedding dress, photographer, etc. My family/friends from the US will be invited, but if any can't come, at least they got to participate (i.e. give gifts!) at the reception here. Once I get back to the states from Jamaica, I want to take the same wedding dress to New Orleans (where I'm from) and take pictures around the French Quarter, especially Jackson Square.

Renewing your vows is reafirming your commitment, so why do you feel the need to say the vows again so soo. I would think when you made it on day one, the vows are supposed to be affirmed for life. So, why so soon?

Our plan is to do our wedding in JA our way, and then either do a renewal of vows or just a big party here later on, so that people who didn't attend in JA will be there. Reality is, I can't picture doing the renewal of vows, mainly cause I can't picture my wedding here without my Dad - so I am leaning towards the big party.

Yeah. This is my reason, too, except I'm doing them in reverse order of Sus. I'll already be married, but want to have the ceremony in Jamaica a year later.

Today was my shortest workday ever! I got there just before 9, only to find that the hard drive crashed on my company laptop. So I couldn't do anything from work. I came home around 9:30 where I can at least log in from my home computer to do some work... and skype with Steven!

My first wedding was supposed to be on a cruise ship. But after thinking about it I wanted the big sha bang so I had a big ceremony and reception here. My next wedding I want it on the beach at Sunset. I

When he comes to the US I plan on having a big party to welcome him here. We'll come in the party as the Mr. and Mrs. but it wont be anything like a reception just a big party where he'll meet a million people and won’t remember any of there names the next day...lol

Wow Nat every time you turn around you'll be saying vows.. I'm surprised you didn't just get married there first. I guess you want your sweetie with you here faster.

ok..so i have to do a persuasive speech in 2 wks..i wanted to maybe to PRESCHOOL SHOULD BE MANDATORY? anybody have any takes on this? i strongly believe kids need to be stimulated..imagine a 5yr old going to school for the 1st time

Great topic and I strongly agree. Has anyone seen the work that these kids are given in grade school now a days? Half the time I think my youngest has my older kids homework. My oldest girl went to preschool and because her birthday runs late she had to do two years. Well her teacher was so hard on her she would send home homework and really work these kids and here I'm being a protective mom like your too hard on my baby blah blah blah. Well my daughter goes to kindergarten and she aced it. The teachers were always telling me how nice it was to see her on track and prepared for school. On

the first day she wasn't crying like EVERYONE else ( I really felt for them teachers) because she was used to the routine. She was used to being separated from mommy and she loved it plus she got sick in preschool from being around other kids so by the time she got to kindergarten her immune system was ready for it. I was so happy to see my daughters preschool teacher and I apologized for giving her a hard time. She really was great!!

Now my twins. Whoo their preschool isn't that great. I have to work with the twins at home and I know by the time they go to kindergarten next year they wont nearly be as advanced as my oldest daughter was and I feel for them.

So as I was saying yes Kim it should in my opinion be mandatory and free...lol

good VJ family,

Kimmy, my best friend is college communication professor, everyday at the gym i hear about students and speeches - I can send you the "what not to do when giving a speech list" i remember yesterday she was telling me the so many students persuasive speech end up sounding like the informative speech, let me know & good luck!

this morning i went to whole foods for my acai juice and saw this bottle, so cute
