i think manadory refers to the state inmplimenting preschool programs..just like they impliment kindergarten

Who is your audience? If you are writting this to persuade the state or federal govt, then I might use manadatory. But if your audience are parents, then manadatory is too strong of a word.

If he wants this BADLY enough, he needs to sacrifice too!

I know he probably says 'I don't know Kingston etc', but he would have to find a way if you weren't sending the money for all of that!

Yep again. My husband didn't know Kingston...(even got on the wrong bus one time). But he did what he had to do. That money can be used towards the flight. He actually came up the same day he got the visa.

I worked at Couples Swept Away for a while and had to take the bus to and from Negril....was a LONG journey but did what needed to be done...

Okay..that sounds good. Are you planning to get married in Jamaica?

Yep, JA. My auntie just had her wedding there last year, that's when I met my SO. I was surprised at how many of my family actually made it. If you give them enough time to plan for it, I think there is a good chance you will have a nice turn out.

Okay..I'm inspired. I want to renew our vows in jamaica.

Kimmy, i don't like the word 'mandatory',

what word would u use that would say schools should provide preschool programs

Kimmy, look at Dan Malloy's program he implemented in Stamford, it might give you some ideas of how to word it - It is a great program.

http://www.cityofstamford.org/content/25/5...54/default.aspx

wow..thnx Sus..ur great!

kimmy,

i had to do a speech like this a few years ago. your topic may not be controversial enough. there are probably not very many people who would disagree with the fact that kids should go to preschool. you would not have to do or say very much to persuade the audience to agree with you. just my opinion...

ok..so i have to do a persuasive speech in 2 wks..i wanted to maybe to PRESCHOOL SHOULD BE MANDATORY? anybody have any takes on this? i strongly believe kids need to be stimulated..imagine a 5yr old going to school for the 1st time

I think it's a good topic and you should be able to find a lot of research on it.

Since it's a persuasive speech you might want to also include how you would suggest funding this mandatory program (tax $, coupling with Federal programs already established like NCLB). I think you could probably find a lot of research on that too.

yes, exactly..i am still working on that part...my thoughts were to use tax money.we use it for all kinds of ish anyways..plus on maybe some kind of sliding scale

sus..this site is awesome

I can't believe I'm still up this late. And I have a full day of work tomorrow.

Question for your opinions:

What is a good amount of notice to give your family if you're planning a ceremony in Jamaica and will invite them?

1 yr, a couple months, 2 yrs, ????

I plan to give mine 1 year's notice.

Nat are you going back to JA to get married??
