Kimmy, i don't like the word 'mandatory',

what word would u use that would say schools should provide preschool programs

Kimmy, look at Dan Malloy's program he implemented in Stamford, it might give you some ideas of how to word it - It is a great program.

Okay..that sounds good. Are you planning to get married in Jamaica?

Yep, JA. My auntie just had her wedding there last year, that's when I met my SO. I was surprised at how many of my family actually made it. If you give them enough time to plan for it, I think there is a good chance you will have a nice turn out.

We haven't decided yet. I want a formal ceremony and dinner reception there so there’s a lot to consider. However, I read a post somewhere, can't remember where but I thought it was a good idea, we may have the formal ceremony there and then when he gets here, have the reception here.

There HAS to be a better way to get this police record! I just haven't found one.

THEN, I wake up & saw several more VSC approvals... for people who submitted after me. WHERE IS MY APPROVAL???

There IS, let him take the BUS and do what he needs to do and come back the SAME day!!

I did it for job interviews when I lived in Kingston.

No disrespect to your SO, but sometimes if you want good yuh nose haffi run.

Renting a car for 2 days, staying in a hotel etc is something only the WEALTHY could afford to do in Ja, everyone ELSE would get up early and take the bus and deal with it.

Please don't be offended, but cha....

Yep. My husband took the bus to Kingston. One time it was two days in a row. Ask him today and he'll tell you it was totally worth it. He is very sensible with money and it shows to this day. He packs my lunch to save money. I love it.

ok..so i have to do a persuasive speech in 2 wks..i wanted to maybe to PRESCHOOL SHOULD BE MANDATORY? anybody have any takes on this? i strongly believe kids need to be stimulated..imagine a 5yr old going to school for the 1st time

I think it's a good topic and you should be able to find a lot of research on it.

Since it's a persuasive speech you might want to also include how you would suggest funding this mandatory program (tax $, coupling with Federal programs already established like NCLB). I think you could probably find a lot of research on that too.

Welcome Bunz!!!!

Where are you in the journey? visa journey?

we are about to begin

we've been discussing k3 vs CR1

decided to go with K3

but i see where california processes faster than vermont

so i was wondering what determines where your petition goes?

a quick question

i'm a novice to the filing process

and i know this question has probably been flogged to death

buuuuuuut.....

how do i know which service center (vermont/california) my petition will be processed at?

It is based on where you live Bunz - sorry, I am too lazy to search it now, lol - where are you? Someone else might have the immediate answer.

my husband is in new york, i'm in jamaica

Oh how neat to chat with a Jamaican still in Jamaica. What part? This will be neat and different. Welcome...

If he wants this BADLY enough, he needs to sacrifice too!

I know he probably says 'I don't know Kingston etc', but he would have to find a way if you weren't sending the money for all of that!

Yep again. My husband didn't know Kingston...(even got on the wrong bus one time). But he did what he had to do. That money can be used towards the flight. He actually came up the same day he got the visa.

I can't believe I'm still up this late. And I have a full day of work tomorrow.

Question for your opinions:

What is a good amount of notice to give your family if you're planning a ceremony in Jamaica and will invite them?

1 yr, a couple months, 2 yrs, ????

It depends and I would say as much time as possible since everyone's budget is different and if they have to get passports etc. As soon as you have a date I say send out the notice..
