I actually consider myself VOLUPTUOUS!! I never used the term fluffy until I went to JA. Quana memba dat guy called me fluffy?? Ladies I cocked my fist back I was about to punch him square in the nose until another JA came to his defense like calm dung gyal dats wah wi call dem ere fluffy and he made is sound so nice and sexy I relaxed mi fist like oh o.k. I got called so many names on the trip fluffy, hips, juicy but for some strange reason none of them names bothered me but if you would call me that here it would definitely be on...LOL

Hey DaDa

I agree I refer to myself as VOLUPTUOUS as well. LOL @ wanting to box when dem a call yuh Fluffy. Speaking of Fluffy mi sisteren just call mi Fluffy pon Facebook LOL ( I don't mind Fluffy at all)

I agree. Damien called me Phatty Girl (remember that song) on our first date...boy, did he get cussed out :ranting: . Guys in Jamaica kept calling my friend phat and she went off every time...I think it's rude. I don't see anything wrong with calling yourself - phat, fat, fluffy..whatever. It's totally different coming from someone else. I politely ask them never to call me that again and keep it moving.

Good VJ.

I agree Shemmy , calling a "Thick" female FAT or PHAT is a hot mess and rude. I know I dont' like it all its damn disrepectful. There is nothing nice about someone calling you FAT, PHAT! PUHLEASE how is that supposed to be a compliment!

I really don’t care what you call me as long as you…. Call me when you need someone to talk tooo uhhh.. Call me satisfaction guar..an…teed.. Call me.... Ha-ha I got you all singing don’t I?? Brought back the old school on yuh rasses...

No really I have been a pleasantly plump, thick chick, fat gyal , full figured woman all mi life so I have gotten used to all terms and afta visiting JA I really am used to most terms Now the descriptions don’t seem to bother me as much. I love to see the faces on people when they are trying to complement me because I'm healthy heavy girl and they have no idea what to say in order to not offend me. I’m one of those girls that knows she needs to lose weight for health reasons even though right now (knocking on wood) I’m healthy as a horse. I lub my thick thighs and big rass and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world if diabetes, high blood pressure and being short winded weren't knocking down my door. Plus the faces of the people who I sit next to on the airplane!!! I crack up at there faces when I sit next to them because they know there going to have to share their seat for the remainder of the ride. I politely remove that armrest between us and tell them don’t mind if I do thank you but anyway(I’m forever getting off target) I also must say I have a confidence to me. I always get compliments on how well I carry myself. I guess because I tend to walk with my head held high because I believe if you act like something is wrong people will tend to think something is wrong. I dress to impress and I wear outfits just as sexy as the next woman I just make sure that since I have a little more than her I don’t show as much as her because I believe there is a way for all full figured woman to look sexy but not sleezy or ridiculous as long as you follow the rules. No Pokka dots, stripes, animal prints, flowers or zig zags.

If you look at my health records I'm fit as can be as long as you look past the weight section. I know I wont be able to dodge those bullets for long and if I don’t get my weight under control I’ll be at the dr’s office more often so for this I must start an exercise program and adapt better eating habits but I tell you if it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t change a thing about me. Did I just give myself a shout out?? I think I did...LOL

Thanks for Sharing DaDa, I'm giving you a shout out too You are fabulous

Weight has always been an issue for me since I had my boys but with hard work and dedication you can shed the pounds, but it will only happen when one is "ready" for the journey.

Hi All!

... We managed to navigate our way through Kingston although we had a few hairy moments with him not being used to driving in city traffic & me trying to help him with road signs....

LOL I experienced this same thing when we went to Kingston last week. In Negril, where my love is used to driving, there are no traffic lights. Not the case in Kingston....

Congratulations on the approval, Ells! Hope you still talk to us occasionally when you & Mr return to the States.

As far as Ringyard I noticed they have done away with the 5.00 calling plan. I tried so hard to purchase 5 dollars the other day and it wouldn’t let me even though the voice response kept saying it did. I played around with it so much I ended up selecting 50 by mistake and of course the transaction went through. I refused to use any of them minutes because I wanted the transaction reversed. Sure enough after calling the company they reversed the charges. Whoo thank goodness…

LOL. That reminds me of the time I meant to withdraw $80 from the ATM, but selected $800 instead. The ATM said that it went through, but no money came out. I was panicking for a bit, but then called the bank & they said that they don't allow ATM withdrawals over $500.

Ya'll think Nat will slap me if I say hurry up NOA2??

Thanks, JaPrincess. I called my senator's office today for an update, and the dude told me that it takes them 15 days to process the request. Last Friday, when I faxed my request, they told me 10 days! I'll call again on Tuesday.

Hi All! It has been a long time since I posted on here and a long time since I got my K1 - but I know someone going through the process now and she needs some help.

So she talked to the NVC in March and they said her case was sent to Kingston on Feb. 16th. She has heard nothing since then. Is this normal? What is the process now after it leaves the NVC?

I would really appreciate any help

Sbys, I have no help for you, but I did look at your signature. You did the exact thing that I want to do: Get married here the weekend before Thanksgiving, but have the REAL wedding in Jamaica exactly one year later.

SBys - she probably needs to try to contact the embassy. They should've received some type of correspondence from the embassy by now.

She's emailed but got no response. But she also says she didn't get a KNG # ... I have her rechecking for that.

She needs to call the DOS # they will have all the information there that the Embassy has. 202-663-1225...tell her to press 1 and then 0 and tell her to have her Kingston case number ready. Did she ever send in or drop off at the Embassy the DS230? If she hasn't that is the next step she needs to do.

Thanks so much... hopefully she will find her case number and I'll have her try this number. I just sent her the DS230 so I'll tell her to drop that off too.

If she didn't address her email correctly that may be why she hasn't had a response. She can get her case # from the NVC, then call the 202 to see what they say the status is. If I was her I would DHL the embassy the DS230 and not wait around (any longer than she already has) for an appointment to drop it off.

Afternoon Yardies!

Well, just checking in real quick since we're at an internet cafe in Negril. We went to our 7:00 a.m. interview yesterday and......

WE WERE APPROVED!! :dance::dance::dance:

I'll post more upon my return in 2 weeks since I don't anticipate being back at a computer until then. I'll tell you all that it went pretty smooth & we were out of there by 9:00 a.m. The ladies that saw us were both very nice. We managed to navigate our way through Kingston although we had a few hairy moments with him not being used to driving in city traffic & me trying to help him with road signs. We also stayed at the Prestige the night before & I highly recommend it.....decent price, A/C, good food & very close to the embassy. Now we just wait for the visa which God & embassy willing will only take 5 days....please pray for us so he can come home with me!

No time to catch up.....gonna have a lot of pages to read when I get back but hope everyone is good!

Lata!

I'm so happy for the both of you Ells! Enjoy your vacation you truly deserve it! (F)

You got me over here missing Kingston now :crying:

If you Skype from computer to computer, it is the best cost of all: $0.00! But both of you need to have an internet connection to use it. Otherwise, calls to Jamaica (Skype to phone) are somewhere between 20 & 25 cents. That's no cheaper than Rebtel or Ringyard, and if you go that way, may as well have him call you with Digicel international.

Yeah I saw that. I just switched to Vonage on the home phone and their rate is 25cents a minute so that's just a few cents more than Ringyard. I don't understand why there are no good international plans in the US to call Jamaica. I told him it would cost less to put the Digicel international on all his friend's phone than him to call them all the time on Ringyard. We have it on his old phone which Jr now has but that's it.

Does anyone have a Verizon home phone?? I heard from someone that for 19.99 a month you can get 500 minutes. I'm not sure if that is true but worth checking it out.

I had Vonayge before and I hated them. My call always got dropped and the reception was the worst. I dropped them like hot pancakes...

Hey Island I have the Verizon home landline plan, I believe its and unlimited plan with anywhere minutes in t US and LD Mexico and Canada but that does not include Intl. The Intl package is an additional 4.95 and .50 per minute. We just use it for emergencies to call INTL when we have to if I don't have a CC handy.......

Okay the Fluffy conversations brings up the following question:

What is considered "FAT" , "Thick" and "Fluffy"?

Do they all mean the same? Or is each one a different stage?

I'm not skinny but don't really consider myself fat, thick, or fluffy. I guess I better just leave it that way.

oh and i must say thanks for the suggestions for where to stay in mobay.....me and richard ended up staying at the glorianna inn last month and we were pleasantly impressed......it was not a 5 star hotel but i was cheap, clean, convenient location, great staff, etc and we are planning to stay there again next month when me and my mom take the babies down for fathers day and their birthday next month......the only down fall is that its not so close to ochi and i didnt get to see anyone last time i visited......i think we are going to take one day this trip and spend the day in ochi so the family can see the babies

Yankeesgirl - The Hotel Gloriana - When my auntie got married last year some of my family stayed there so I’m a little familiar with it. I thought it was a little too far walking back at night from M’ville (and then they walked back one night from Pier One) but it was a lot of us so it was ok. Overall I liked it (not a five star) but thought it was something I wanted to try out on one of my return trips and maybe reserve a block of rooms for family to stay again for my wedding. But I have read so many bad reviews that I have been hesitant. So you would recommend staying here?

Glorainna huhhhhh I know where that is…(sniff sniff)

DaDa - don’t mean to add to your sniffles :( but you’re a Mobay girl, would you recommend it? Have you ever stayed at Toby’s?

I personally didn't care for Glorianna. One of my online friends stays there for months at a time...we even requested "her room". The room was awful - dirty, music too loud from the pool, little tv. However, my friend stayed a few doors down and her room was nicer. They would not swtich my rooms and it was not hardly full. I would stay there again if I had no choice and Damien will NEVER stay there again...he won't even look it when he ride pass it

Welcome back Sus.

really? we never have any problem. one time hubby went down a night early to get the room and such and when I came the next morning, the owner called to see if that room was ok for us (it was a smaller room) and I said it was okay but she insisted we get a better room so she had the bell hop show us three more rooms.

They will do that. They show you the rooms before you pick which one you want.

But they also knew us from before because I first went there with a fairly large mission group.

The pool DOES get loud, but it didnt bother us. Our room was always clean.

Yeah, it was a bad experience for us. They were super rude, the room sucked and coulnd't get any sleep. The owener came the day we checked out but it was too late...Damien made up his mind by then. We stood outside agruing over it...he refused to stay there. I would try to stay there again.
