i have a serious question for everyone, especially for those who have gone through the process already or those who are deep in the process

how do you deal with the waiting?

i'm just 18 days in and sometimes i feel so antsy?

so how do you deal with it? seriously

what do you do to keep from going crazy?

Hey Bunz,

My NOA2 approval time frame was 7 months, and I was basically going crazy through the duration, but honestly nothing can be done to speed it up. I even called to file a formal expedite, citing financial hardship without my Husband here in the states. Girl please Nada nothing! I basically traveled to see my Husband as often as possible and we lived on the phone and made the best of it. It did become stressful at times but I realized its the distance and we always managed to get through it unscathed. He is very patient and I am the opposite, I was losing my mind and he kept me grounded and was persistant that I never lose sight of the big picture. We also prayed alot and knew that is was important to keep the faith because all things happen in the Creator's time!

Funny you posed these questions because this weekend I had a nightmare I was still in the process and Hubby wasn't here. Then I woke up and he was right there, girl the USCIS can drive you mad trust me! Here I am now with a CR1 and still have to deal with their incompetence! How are you gonna lose my Husbands Paperwork :bonk: I'll fill everyone in on this saga when we come back from the info pass appointment.

Hey everyone it's Wakey..I'm sitting hear with Jawi and just reading all the recent post. We went to the doctor today and will need to have another surgery in a few weeks. Please keep her in your prayers.

Thanks for all the good comments about my hair. It's not really looking the way it did the first day(very frizzy). I need to practice using different products. Any ideas from those of you who are rockin naturals???

DaDa I'm so sorry to hear about your journey ending. Keep your head up.

Wakey

Jawi, you are in my prayers (F)! I truly hope this surgery will leave you pain free forever!

Hey Wakey, I don't have chemicals in my hair and although I have long hair I am Weavalicious so I guess I don't really count huh LOL

Hello there all, I am almost in the same situation, me &my hubby's I129 & I130 approved in Feb, he wants to persue the I129.. we were told it would be mailed in one week to the embassy in Jamaica.. that was the week of Feb 18.. but we still haven't heard anything from the emabassy.. the NVC keeps telling us that it mailed on 2/13.. and they don't know the status of it after it left the NVC.. does anyone know usually how long it can take to hear anything from the embassy.

Now tell me why would someone wait until today to ask why they haven't heard anything from the embassy when their application was sent over in February.

thanks for the product nat.. i will look for that next time im at wal mart.. ive heard a lot about mrs jessies, but affordability is always a good thing..

im out ya'll.. i miss my man.. have i said it lately??? heehee..

To rant for just a minute.... I just don't understand Miss Jessie's curly pudding. It is so highly recommended & popular, yet it dries out your hair! Even at the hair salon, they said that you need to mix it with oil before applying to your hair, otherwise it gets flaky as it dries. My thought was... if I pay $40 for a product, I don't want to have to add oil to it! So I bought it with a lot of encouragement from a friend who wanted to try it out, but it is such a hassle to use that I've only used it 2 or 3 times in as many years.

You'll notice in all of these reviews that the complaint is how hard, flaky, and/or drying this product is.

Hey Nat,

A girlfriend of mine from NY went to the shop to have the process done basically its a relaxer, they creme your hair for a hot minute then deep condition it and add the curty pudding. She came back looking as if she got a texturizer and added some conditioner for whopping price of $175.00 If someone did that to me and I paid for it! I would be hotter than fish grease! As much as the curly pudding costs I have not seen the sensational results its boasts!

Okay Ladies, this was not received by me, this was posted in another post.

May 16th got RFE in mail, asking for consummation proof. Now how do you prove this ?

WOW....

You have got to be kidding me. ‘k, so now USCIS in the sx tape bz. :wow:

OK..ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS? THERE WAS A VISITOR ON MY PROFILE NAME "GUEST" WHEN I CLICKED IT, IT BROUGHT ME BACK TO MY OWN PROFILE...HILARIOUS HUH...IS WAH MI DO WRONG NOW

Yeah, I noticed this. It was the strangest thing. I’m trying to figure out how they did it because when you are just on the site (not logged in) you are viewing it as Guest. But how do you actually register as Guest. Are any of the Administrators screen named Guest, I don’t think so and then why does it just throw you back. Hacker maybe???:unsure:

Question: If you want to file for Jamaican son or daughter..is DNA test required?

i know if a father is filing a dna test has to be done

a nuff ppl life mash up because of that too

cuz you don't do the test till towards the end of the process after fees pay and everything

imagine paying all that money only to find out the pikney a nuh yours! haha

I can't imagine - not just the money but the emotional heartbreak as well.

Wa'pen TL;

At our interview we saw a father and son who were so closed (little boy must have been 8 years old)...the father found out at the interview that the little boy was not his and the interview ended there, they CO kept talking, but he didn't respond he just sat back down and cried, it broke my heart. The little boy kept saying, daddy what's wrong and the man said, nothing, son let's go catch a movie. I got up and gave the man a hug and he said thank you. I just didn't know what to say.

Oh man, that is not the way to find out…and the little boy.

Speaking of filing for family members, that was in the Jamaica Gleaner recently:

Ok, since I’m back and forth between the K3 and CR1, I have a question (Nat, being the color coded planner that I am, I’m the one who’ll probably be a vet filing because I am trying to get as much information as I can before hand. Hopefully I’ll have all the paperwork together and files created for additional docs even before the wedding since I plan to file as soon as the cert is in hand.)...If the I-129F in the K3 process does expire, can you withdraw the I-129F and go with the CR-1 or is it that once you make that decision to pursue the K3 basically you’re stuck?

Jawi, my prayers are with you. (F) Since you have to have the surgery #2, hope finally you're pain free.

i have a serious question for everyone, especially for those who have gone through the process already or those who are deep in the process

how do you deal with the waiting?

i'm just 18 days in and sometimes i feel so antsy?

so how do you deal with it? seriously

what do you do to keep from going crazy?

Definitely planning the next trip to visit is what kept me sane. Right now is the first time in a long time that I don't know when my next trip will be, but I'm guessing August. Between visits, Skyping is another way to cope. I just wish he had internet access at his home instead of having to travel to a restaurant with WiFi. I used Skype to give him a tour of my apartment & stuff, so he's that much more prepared for when he gets here.

Bunza, I have been dealing with this process since 02/2008, the waiting is hard, and I have always said it is even harder when you are married.

The things that have helped me, have been the planning of every 3 months to come to JA to see my husband, the folks here on VJ, we used to have great Friday nights VJ parties. Some how things have changed along the way, we used to have great conversations on VJ, but people now don't want to talk about relationships.

You still needs to keep busy at home, that helps alot too.

Friday night VJ parties? How did that work?

Thanks for all the good comments about my hair. It's not really looking the way it did the first day(very frizzy). I need to practice using different products. Any ideas from those of you who are rockin naturals???

I like Cantu Shea Butter leave in conditioner. It's at WalMart for $6 or less. This has worked a lot better for my hair than some of the expensive products (like Miss Jessie's curly pudding). If I put this in after washing/conditioning my hair, it accentuates the curls & makes my hair very soft.

this is what i use in my daughters hair ..

Jawi, Quana, thanks for sharing your VJ story. I think it's great that you found this site before you needed it, as it's full of women who can relate to having a Jamaica man.

Add me!!! I'm always expecting a miracle!!!

That was the background on my computer for a while a year or so ago. Royal blue background with white writing saying "I Expect A Miracle."

I'd forgotten all about background until reading what you posted. And guess what that miracle is: my Steven! I knew him a year ago, but wasn't giving him much energy then. If you had told me that he'd end up being the love of my life, I would've laughed. But now, sometimes I take a moment to bask in his love.

So expect your miracle, KK!! Appreciate it when it comes.
