On the food issue - Have you guys tried experimenting with food while you are still there? DJ is not a fussy eater, which is a good thing - But I have cooked for him many times - made stir frys, chicken caccitore, tortellini, thai food, etc..... he is very open to the different types of food -

I have taken food with me and cooked for A. He is willing to try anything (says he has to get used to American food) the only thing is he doesn't like half the things I thought he would. Luckily though there is a Jamaican/Caribbean food restaurant close by so if I get too frustrated trying, I will have an outlet.

I'm gonna try and be good today since I have lots of work to do AND still working on my final project. We'll see if I can stay away from you all! Can't believe I'll be in the air this time next week!

Getting all my paperwork put together and just have to complete the I-134. I did a trial run but have to re-do page 2 now that I've filed my 2008 tax return and can use that info. I've got my bank letter, employer letter and 3 years of tax returns to include with it all. Can anyone answer me a question regarding tax returns? When you use tax returns to supplement the I-134 as proof of income, do they just look it over and turn it back to you or do they expect to keep a copy?? I'm wondering if I need to make copies of the tax return or just have the originals handy for the interview as proof.

Ells – I think to be safe, you should make (2) sets of copies (1 for you, 1 for them) and take originals.

Dada why is my Hubby now into Charm School :o ???? He was cracking up at Brittany Star! Now I am a huge Blaxploitation movie fan and have a vast collection of flicks, so I introduced him to Blacula yesterday he loved it! Ok and why does my oldest son know all of the songs, even I looked at him sideways

That's great now the two of you will have a show in common!!! One time when I went to see Roc I had him watching Real and Chance and at first he thought it was stupid but then he started to laugh at it but he kept saying see some times people can be so stupid.... I was like hey this is my show your talking bout here!!!

Ugh no wonder why hubby is bored you have no cable?? So what does he have to do all day??

I wanna try to go without cable for the summer. I’m sure with everything most likely will be re runs and hey I could use the three months savings but then I think again and I'm like can I really do it?? I'm such a tv junkie its crazy!!

Did anyone watch the Teh Game on CW on Friday? It was the season finale and I SWEAR I love Derwin. The stuff he said to Mel at the end just made me melt and I feel sorry for Kelly but hey that is what you wanted right??

Umm I never thought of making American dishes. I guess that is because I'm always having Roc making Jamaican dishes so I can find something I like. I guess I'm like them there are A lot of dishes so far Roc has made that I have not been that found of nor will I try. I don't know why but I guess in a way I’m picky. Not picky enough to be thin but picky where I wont try a lot of foods I'm not used to. Even when we stayed at the resort my brother was pushing me like try it Dara if you don’t like it its fine shoot you already paid for it but I could not try it. Like so far I’m not a fan of bambi, dumpling, boiled banana, yam, ackee and saltfish, and peas. I dislike the resorts version of hamburgers and hot dogs.To be truthful so far I only like the different fruits, steamed fish (as long as Roc takes the head off first) brown stew chicken, curry chicken and KFC..lol. I'm not fond of beef patties I love the crust but not the inside oh but my all time favorite is Festival. Now I just love those likkle things. So I guess if I was to move there I would have a problem.

Ells: How is mister going to school? What school documents would he need?? I need to tell Derron to get those. He wants to go to school but since we're still waiting on his SS, we have just narrowed down the school and the subjects he will take. Not thinking he needs stuff to even apply. I dropped the ball on this one!

I found that with the schools in my area SO can apply and matriculate like anyone else, but without the ss# he just can’t receive any financial aid.

Can he drive yet?? That would be something really good for him to do while he's at home...

Does he play dominoes? If so, tell him to check out www.jamdom.com

If he's into the surfing etc, I can suggest a couple messageboards and chatrooms that he can pass time in!! But don't blame me if he gets addicted ROFL!

Actually, he's been driving since the first day he got here. I am no longer driving, and I love it! He has learned rather quickly and has gotten used to the traffice and all of our million highways. And I'll tell him about jamdom.com, but no chatrooms. LOL!

I hope my SO learns to drive quickly, but my car is a stick and he has already said that he doesn’t know how to drive with the three pedals. This should be interesting.

Mrs. Buggy, go down or up to the SS building and get a copy of his SS number. They may not have mailed it out, but I'm sure they have it on file. He can use that until the actual card arrives. Good luck...

Well, we have been to the office, and they told us that he wasn't even in the system... WTH!!?? So, we will be going there again on Thursday. I hope I don't have to get fly w/ anyone. He was talking bout if he didn't get his SS card by the end of the month, we would be moving to Jamaica. I told him I was sure that he would get it by a months time... He better get it!!

This is how my daughter ended up with 2. The hospital sent the application in but it took forever to receive. When I went down to SSA, they said it wasn’t in the system. So since I took her birth certificate with me, I just completed another application right there. I ended up receiving ss card with one # two weeks later but then another two weeks after that with a different #. I was confused and checked on each at separate times but both #s are valid. I guess when they said it wasn’t in the system, the paperwork was still being processed and they both ended up going through around the same time so there was no alert for a duplicate processing.

He is VERY picky. So far he likes Mexican food but it has to be authentic not anything like On The Border or Taco Bell stuff. That's my fault cuz my parents took us out to eat and he loved the food. But they live close to the Mexico border! He says he's game for trying, but then he sees it and then says he don't like it!

A seems to love Mexican food too and also Cajun. Whenever I tell him he's picky about the foods he says but I told you I liked what you cooked that time. (Spanish rice and beans). Unfortunately, I don't know how to prepare much of anything else in these styles and he doesn't do well with Southern foods at all. ::sigh:: My family is big on Southern foods, this is all we have at family functions.

On form DS 157 question 17 asks for all educational institutions attended. It says "Include vocational institutions but not elementary schools". I'm confused. Do they just mean college and I just leave it blank or do I need to list my SO's middle and high school? If I don't put anything then do I put "none"?

Dada – I had to laugh thinking about me and A with this one. I always take movies with me and I had A watching my favorite movie and he was just downing it the whole time. I’m like hey this is my favorite movie…you’re just not getting it! I told him he needed to know the history, because this particular one though it wasn’t a sequel, it sort of fed off of these other ones. This poor man, I had him watching all 3 parts of this movie trilogy, and told him now you’ll be ready for the 4th when it comes out.

I just read your post we didn't get out SS card or the green card yet. The SS Bldg is on this campus so I plan to go over there this week. That's good your Hubby is driving I am scared to death to let mine drive all I keep thinking about is if he is in an accident without his papers! I am not scared of him driving, he is a mechanic it's these other fools out here we have to worry about! So we have to low the driving until he gets his license.....

As far as the food I normally only eat Yard food so that wasn't a big change and we even have Haitian vs. Jamaica cook offs LOL so far we are even! He has fallen in love with the Philly Cheese steak though and likes all types of food and he is not picky. Although he hates grits I love Indian food and he has never had it, so we plan to hit the restaurant ( when I am off my diet) LOL. He actually requested me to make Spaghetti last night which he calls macaroni so I did, and he called me earlier and was eating the left overs and wants to know when I can make that again ( which will be never since I am on this diet) ha ha.

We had Cable in Kingston so he is all about the DVR and Blockbuster LOL. I do worry that he is bored when I am at work but he claims he is not he has plenty to do on the home improvement list ( But I know he is playing Playstation 3 ) he ain't fooling nobody LOL

As far as $ is concerned we are both frugal ( except when it comes to clothes) so we are both in trouble! We have been doing the bills together so he is in the loop of exactly what we are dealing with. He cracks me up turn the lights off stop and running the pipe! We will be in the dark if its up to him and collecting rain water LOL

Don't feel bad I am spoiled too and trust me he knows it

Yes I made Damian watch the Game too he was pissed cause Everybody hates Chris was pre-empted but loved the show! Malik is my favorite character, was the laugh track missing? Didn't it seem strange without it? Poor Kelly but she should have known better, I'm sure they will be back together next season, I hope there is a next season, you know how the CW is!

LoL, A keeps calling it this. I made this Clam Linguine for him once and he loved it but he keeps asking when I'm going to make that macaroni again.
