Morning all!

Lawny, sorry mi nah call - crazy weekend, trying to cram everything in, pack, lacrosse game, etc.... I was running from when I left work on Friday

Hey sis; no worries I had a house full of boys ages 5 - 15, (11 total)...their parents went on a couples retreat. My poor husband, I didn't know boys eat so much, so fast, but I loved it. The wanted Jamaican food to eat and eat they did. Then my son was asking mommy when am I going to get a brother or sister, I don't like playing by myself (my heart just broke).

I just woke up at like 5am from a nightmare.

I dreamed that I was at a mall around 10pm and stumbled across a beauty salon that was still open. I told them I was going to Jamaica today and wanted my hair to look nice, but didn't give specific directions. So I'm sitting there watching tv while the stylist does her work. When she's about halfway done, I realize that she's... RELAXING MY HAIR!! I was like, Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! It took me 6 years to grow it out naturally and now it's not. The stylist just told me that she really needs the money from this job to pay her mortgage. I was like, Well, at least I know my fiance will like it. (Because I have found that most men like longer hair, and straightened, my hair is at least twice as long)

Then I woke up! Whew! As Three 6 Mafia would say, "Natural curly hair. Please don't touch."

Site note: When looking up who sang that song, I saw that Juicy J founded Three 6 Mafia AND his older brother is Project Pat. I didn't realize the connection there.

I just spat my coffee out thinking about that song lmao lmao lmao you took it back hahahahahah im still laughing!

** I been to hell and back but the key words is I'm back thanks to the grace of god! **

MrsBuggy - good to hear you and hubby’s adjustment is coming along.

*He wants to get on here and put his two cents in on his adjustments and what not... so when he does, I'll tell him to say it's him and not me.

**Sorry this is so long

That would be nice!!

Can he drive yet?? That would be something really good for him to do while he's at home...

Does he play dominoes? If so, tell him to check out www.jamdom.com

JaEnglish - studying for the drivers’ license seems like a good way to start.

OCS-Only Child Syndrome  ... I have this... And it sucks for him!! Ok.. I admit, I'm a lil spoiled at times and want things my way. I am still in the learning phase of overcoming this and I'm taking steps (baby-steps) to get better. I've just been so used to doing things on my own, my own way... patience is all I ask of him.

OCS - hahahahaha. I have this too...Lawd, help me/him with this one!

Morning Yardies!

I'm gonna try and be good today since I have lots of work to do AND still working on my final project. We'll see if I can stay away from you all! Can't believe I'll be in the air this time next week!

Getting all my paperwork put together and just have to complete the I-134. I did a trial run but have to re-do page 2 now that I've filed my 2008 tax return and can use that info. I've got my bank letter, employer letter and 3 years of tax returns to include with it all. Can anyone answer me a question regarding tax returns? When you use tax returns to supplement the I-134 as proof of income, do they just look it over and turn it back to you or do they expect to keep a copy?? I'm wondering if I need to make copies of the tax return or just have the originals handy for the interview as proof.

Hello all. It's been a while since I have logged onto VJ... things have been hectic in the household. I've been working and coming home to actually being a wife. I've been lucky that on most nights the husband cooks dinner (cuz Lord knows I hate to cook) but I have been just so tired. I come home and then tend to stay up with him. He is totally, utterly bored at home. He STILL has not received his SS card. It has been 7 weeks since he got here... well, I guess we will just wait.

(L) I know I have missed so, so much and it is too much for me to go back and read to catch up... so I hope all of the interviews have gone well. Prayers & Blessings go out to all of you who have had any good, bad or indifferent news in your life. I am always praying for all of you on here, cuz I KNOW this is not an easy journey. (L)

Well, like I said before, it has been 7 weeks since the husband arrived. And let me tell you... it has been an ADJUSTMENT!! Other than him being bored to death in the house, things are going ok. We have our little arguments over petty things, ex:

Phone calls-he gets phone calls from his friends in Jamaica... which is great... but why do they have to be from his "female" friends?? Where are his male buddies  ?? Of all of them, I can count on one hand how many times I've heard him talk to them. So this causes us to have spats. :bonk:

Money-OMG! He is so strict w/ money. We are living on just my salary right now and YES, :help: I do have money management problems...I like to spend  !! And that is a problem. He is teaching me how to budget and save. So this one, I think we can overcome.

Food-ALL he wants is Jamaican food... which is great! But I can't cook EVERYTHING! And sometimes... I want some other type foods which most of the times, he's not wanting to eat. So I'm stuck. He'll try some things, but for the most part... he don't like it!

Goin out-He hasn't really done this. We go out together for the most part. He has gone out w/ his brother a few times. He's not much of a clubber so this has not been a problem for us. Although, he has asked what I considered a late time to be for him to come home if/when he decided to go out and kick it. I said 3-3:30am is around the time I would expect him to come home. Any later, I would have a problem with that. I'm the one that's probably going to have to watch my watch when I go out...

All in all, this is our learning period... and it takes time and as long as we're both willing to stick through this and always keep talking, we'll be alright.

*He wants to get on here and put his two cents in on his adjustments and what not... so when he does, I'll tell him to say it's him and not me.

**Sorry this is so long

Oh, Mrs Buggy I can relate to so much of what you're going through and I haven't even gone through it yet! I know I'm going to have OCS too! LOL! Mister will be in school at least 4 hours a day so hopefully he won't be so bored....gonna try to enroll him in every learning program possible! But I hope my mister will be open to trying different food cause we don't have as many options for JA food over here. I think you're lucky your man is so money-conscious....it's great he has an understanding of how important it is and is really looking out for you. He's definitely got your best interests at heart and isn't in it for you to be his "sugar mama". Finally, I'm guessing we'd all enjoy reading your hubby's input on the adjustment here!

Lawd Lawny! I don't know how you handled 11 boys....I'd be crazy today if it were me! Aawww...that's sweet that your son wants a sibling. He'll be okay either way though....just look at all of us 'normal' only children on here!
